Pretty cool seeing elk on a sand dune too.

So you can see why the hunter ( that filled out a paper application and sent in a check for 3 years with no chance of drawing and now has numerous weighted points) would not be happy.

The pts are weighted to you have a little better chance the more years you've tried.

You are right Codylee. I just got out of the 5 yr penalty box. So in 3 yrs we will probably be competing for the same tag. Welcome aboard.

I think I was trying to say the minimum quota is 8 for a tag to make it to the random draw but yes I agree with junior. I definitely better understand percentages for regular and special now. Thanks guys.

From what I'm seeing it looks like there needs to be a total quota of 8 nr tags for a specific type hunt for 2 tags to go to the random draw.

Not to be a downer but I think the special might have the opposite effect. More hunters might think they have a better chance cause of the price and put in for the special but good luck hope everyone draws.

Global hunter What is the price comparison it cost you to hunt unit 10, 40, and 201??? I'd stay the course and go for unit 2 if that's what you started accumulating PPS for 25yrs ago even if it meant never hunting in colorado. Never give up.

Not sure why at least 1 tag doesn't make it to the random draw. I was thinking because group applications where drawn in the preference point draw. Was hoping someone would chime in on that.

25% of the nres. total tag quota goes to the random draw. Anyone can draw in the random draw regardless of how many points you have. So you can draw in the random draw with 0 point . Sometimes there is 0 quota for the nres random draw. If there was 0 quota that means you had no chance of drawing...

I know it would be easy to check on the state website but how much is a cow tag for res. and nres. now?

I applaud wyoming in the fact that if I draw a tag. I can hunt archery and rifle with the same tag. I can hunt for 2 months with different weapons on the same tag. IMO any game management agency in any state should not issue a tag if they don't want you to fill it. Seems to me Wy is giving tag...
