    bethedecoy.com?

This type of advice is what I am looking for. I have a Montana colapsable decoy and will take it but look over the situation before deciding to use it. We are on private ground and it is supposed to be lightly hunted. When I read the article I just could not feel comfortable imitating the animal...

    bethedecoy.com?

Hello MM"R"s, I have been studying antelope behavior and hunting methods. The American Hunter has an interesting article and it includes the idea of decoys and decoy hats where the hunter is also the decoy. I would like your opinion of the idea as to being successful and how risky it is...

Broadheads for longer distance with the new Raven crossbows

Gentlemen. I am 73 yrs young and for the last couple of years have been using a crossbow instead of the compound more and more. I have ordered a new Raven bow and will soon set it up and practice for muleys and speed goats in Wyoming. I would like to hear from anyone who has experience...

    A THANKS TO DARRELL WALTRIP!!!

He is-was the best as an announcer and driver. He has slowed over the last couple of years and did not ever really match well with Jeff. He was over the top Sunday with his analogy about being in a hot situation and peeing ice water. J_T_B

    Nikon scope question.

Hello Gentlemen, I bought a used muzzleloader about 3 years ago. 1 yr old at the time. Topped with a Nikon 3x9 prostaff scope. I have shot it many times both in practicing and hunting. The crosshairs are suddenly "fuzzy". It still is accurate but there is something wrong and it will get...

    Unit 61 CO

Theres a wonderful spring at Columbine campgrounds. The water is state tested. Its a great place to camp or you can camp just about everywhere if privacy is your goal. It is about as dry there as its ever been. You can learn the area and terrain but game and sign will be scarce. J_T_B

    Legal broadhead question

Thanks for all your answers. The new rage hypodermic was changed for bigger boned game by reducing the blades in length to cut a 1 1/2 inch incision and the blades are made thicker to not bend or break as easily as the originals. I read the regulations and was confused by the way they explain...

    archery hunting from horseback

Gentlemen, Thanks for all the help and suggestions. The outfitter has asked me to have the bow in a good hardcase....he will place it in a pannier for the trip in and out. He will provide bow scabbards for the daily hunting. When on foot I plan to have my quivver strapped to my backpack. We...

    Crossbow?

Don't get me wrong. If I cannot handle a compound bow I would be more than happy to hunt elk with a crossbow. If you do you will have the same exact experience as far as the excitement of the hunt. As we get older or lose our ability to accurately shoot "regular" bows we have to adapt. J_T_B

    Crossbow?

Here in Illinois crossbow hunting has really took hold. I am 72 years old and still able to use my compound bow but also have and use a crossbow. We take a lot of does and use the meat for tablefare and especially to make deer sausage. The actual hunting experience is not as challenging but...

    archery hunting from horseback

It is my belief that we will use the horses to get to the hunting areas and then dismount and tie the horses and actually pursue the elk on foot. The outfitter has semi permanent camps and most often the actual hunt area is several miles from a camp. I rifle hunted this area with him 4 years ago...

    Yeti drops NRA

No doubt Yetti's are great and durable coolers. I have not found the need to spend that much to get the job done. If I had one I would get a nice large NRA sticker and put it on the cooler where everybody could see where I stand. God Bless America J_T_B

New entry level bow vs. Used nicer brand

You might be smart to tune up the one you have and save for another year. Prices have gone up and you will want to buy a bow that you can stick with for several years. As you spend more money it allows you to get much better shooting bows. Less vibration, quieter, and less chance to have a built...

    NON RES ELK DRAW

I have to agree. I had dreams of an archery or muzzy tag for Colorado 61 but now have 12 points and will be lucky as hell to be healthy enough if I live long enough. I am not saying things are not fair but I have no suggestions on a more fair and equitable method to allot tags. I really...
