I hunted 102 last year and while I wouldn't say there were tons of deer we did see a lot more deer during the bow hunt than we did during the rifle hunt. It was a lot fun chasing them with a bow but I would say 170" was pretty much the top end for what we saw in the unit.

I heard one bull over 350 was killed on pine Mtn last year but everything I saw in that area was no bigger than 320. But I really only spent a couple days over there in September so probably not a fair assessment.

31 is an amazing elk area. They killed some of the biggest Bulls they have ever killed up there last year according to some of the locals. I had a deer tag in that area last year and it was tough to concentrate on deer there were so many elk everywhere. PM if you need more info.

Yes you can hunt unit 16 during the bow hunt in September even if you draw the type 2 tag. One of the advantages of hunting in Wyoming!
