Elk, I agree the deer herds need help. I was talking to a DNR person and he said it was mostly the loss of habitat, roads and road kill, and old growth that produces little forage. Hopefully we can work together and increase deer numbers.

There are some good whitetails up north around Sundance. There is a national forest up there and some scattered tracts of state land. If you can find some next to a farmer's field , you should do well. The website for the state trust land is lands.state.wy.us Do your homework and you should do fine.

Here is my first ever whitetail. He grosses 144-2/8 and was taken in Northeast Wyoming. Not a bad change from mule deer!
