You can pick up a lot of the deer tags as left overs if you still want to deer hunt. Most of the timbered units have plenty of deer to be had but the hunting is tougher since you can't glass them up.
This buck was right at 160” mostly due to mass, extra eye guards and deep fronts. I believe he was around 8-10. We’ve killed a few bucks that were 4.5 and 5.5 in the area and this bucks teeth were worn down over twice as much.
This buck is 4.5yrs and 184”, I think he would have been quite a...
The only extinction I know of in the lower 48 in recent years is the woodland caribou in WA. The woodland caribou were ultimately whipped out by predators which were plentiful due to all of the liberals in WA state, the last woodland caribou was captured in 2018 and released with another herd...
Arrow weight has more to do with sound than anything else. Nothing is going to be quieter than your current bow, take it apart, clean it, grease it, make sure everything is tight and shoot a 500gr arrow and it will be as quiet as any other bow.
I carry by the string, typically I have it by the serving, it does cause premature fuzzing by drying the strings. Keep that section waxed and your good.
Shot this bull that was running 20+ cows. Watched him rake a tree and all I got a good look at from 60 yards was his tops. He looked like he had huge tops at that distance and I decided to kill him. He only ended up scoring 282”, I thought he was a 300” bull while on his feet. He’s also like 44”...
I do think this is great research and if I owned a large enough piece of land it would be getting treated for sure. I can't stand cheat grass and we do have plenty of it around.
I have to agree with Togwotee as far as Oregon goes, we have way more winter forage than deer to eat it. We also have ranchers aerial spraying to kill sage/bitterbrush stands so that their cattle can have more grass to eat. I know one property that was phenomenal winter range 5 years ago that...
You aren't going to get much feedback on the lift or Alpha X since they are brand new. Search Podium Archery on youtube, he does a review on all of those bows with detailed specs.
IMO new bows are way overpriced, they are about the worst investment ever, bows in the last 5yrs haven't changed...
I’m selling my RX4 Alpha, 70lbs, #2 cam, New Park-N-Sons (Xwolverine) strings. The bow is in good shape, one small nick on the outer paint by the cable guard but it blends in with the color scheme and is hard to notice.
This has been a great bow. This was the last year the Hoyt’s had the...
The number one thing IDFG could do to help deer numbers is to make Residents pick a unit. One of ID biggest issues is that for the first couple of weeks of the season, everyone with a tag runs up into the units close to whichever town they live in to hunt, and then when they go to take time off...
I guess I’m more wondering about did I miss judge the age of these bucks. I looked at all of them for a couple of days and passed them. I do not regret not shooting them as I was after an older age class buck and don’t believe any of these met that criteria.
The only one I believe I was off on...
I agree, I went back and forth on the buck, I was thinking 3.5 but after looking at some others we decided he was probably 4.5.
This area gets very little pressure and we were the last hunters for the year. If they can avoid the cats they should make it another year for sure. The biggest...
