Earliest was a buck in Wyoming on December 26th. When we first saw him we figured his already shed side was broken. And then he shed the 2nd side while we were watching. The latest I did not see but a friend did. That was also in Wyoming on May 3rd.

I'm looking to cash in my 18 bear points in Utah for 2024. Any suggestions would be much appreciated? I've only killed one bear & that was in Alaska over 20 years ago! How is the bear hunting looking in the San Juan recently? That is the unit I'm leaning toward. Thank you in advance.

I've been using the Hornady FTX bullets with BH 209 powder & have been getting great results out of my TC.

When I hunted 45 I used maps from MyTopo. They're not cheap but they are made from very high quality materials & are water proof. They cover the entire unit. As far as camping in the unit...it's pretty much all primitive camping. I'm sure there are a couple but, I'm not aware of any...

It was the North Cache unit. Nowhere did they say they were hunting that bull in September. They just mentioned he'd gone a long way to winter. They easily could have known other people hunting him. I know of someone who was hunting that bull during the HAMS hunt.
