    Mule Deer Proposal

So far it seems reasonable. But if it doesn't help SFW, Peay, or other money makers more than the general public, it won't happen.

    HOW BOUT THEM BUNDY'S???

This article was meant for 1 thing. Get the dumpster fire going again! I don't follow the Bundy's, but I do know one major issue the enivro's and KSL leave out of the equation. The Bundy's aren't delinquent with their grazing fees. When the BLM designated that land a desert tortoise preserve...

    Mule deer potential

You'll never find out on a general unit in Utah as long as the state continues to manage tag numbers based on what they need for next year's budget. Along with the KILL ANY FORKY YOU SEE MENTALITY.

    Colorado's finest at work.

Is it really a question as to why wolves were introduced, and hunting is declining at a record pace? DENVER – The Department of Natural Resources and Colorado Parks and Wildlife today announced four new Outdoor Equity Grant Board members. The board, created by the passage of House Bill...

    No permit numbers before deadline!

The whole point of moving the application period back a month was so people could see permit numbers before applying, like last year. Especially when you're applying for hunts that sometimes close due to low numbers. It's wasting a year due to the hunt you applied for, being shut down. I can't...

    No permit numbers before deadline!

I was looking at once-in-a-lifetime units and noticed it says "2024 Permit numbers will be set during the April RAC cycle and finalized at the May 2, 2024 Wildlife Board Meeting." Thats a week after the deadline. When some units only have 1-2 or no tags, that's a big deal. What the Gosh Darn...

Would you send an arrow at this one?

No. The tree stem is in the way. The opening would lead to a gut shot, with maybe a small portion clipping lungs or liver.

    Manti Mid season

The biggest issue with any mid-season LE bull hunt is dealing with spike hunters. If you're used to combat hunting, you will do fine.

    Expo tag repeat winners.

There was a post about this last year where someone posted a report that showed everyone who drew and how many times they drew. There was a guy that had drawn 5 tags, and someone mentioned he was affiliated with SFW.

    ANYBODY KNOW THESE HUNTERS???

In utah it doesn't matter who has the tag. If you're from Cal or Wyo, there will still be 7 utah trucks at your camp helping out. The largest camps I've seen in CO has always been texans.

    SXS mileage

I know it's off subject, but this old machine has been absolutely amazing for me over the years. In 2008 I bought a Rhino 700 brand new. It now has 14,250 miles on it. Only things I had to fix are a few wheel bearings, a stator, brake pads, 1 belt, and a few CV boots. I laugh at how people are...

    Residency Truths

I know a guy who grew up in Utah but moved to PA. He was a competition archer with several sponsorships. 3 years after moving to PA he drew an Oak Creek Utah archery deer tag. He killed a nice buck and was later prosecuted for using his parents address for his residence. Lost his deer, all his...

    Idaho Sheep hunt.

Unfortunately, I wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure their names were Casey and Toad. The 2 older gentlemen. They were awesome to work with. Yeah, that was crazy to see a lion almost put one of them down. they figured it was within 20 yards at one point.

Western Hunt Expo. What is really going on?

I would like to know if the hunt expo would still be successful if they were to eliminate the draw tags all together. I would still attend it. Some people might go as a result from eliminating the draw tags.

    Kidney stones

I had 4 stones try to pass all at once. 2 came with flomax. 2 wouldn't pass, and it was 2 weeks of H3LL before they could get me in for lithotripsy. I had 2 women tell me they would rather give birth than pass a kidney stone.

    Straight vs angled spotter

I'm kind of a jerk to people I hunt with that use a straight. It's comical to watch them kink their neck or stand all the time. Moving it out of the way when they switch back to their binos. Angled eliminates all of that.

How about a bounty on lions?

My Brother had a sheep tag for southwest Idaho this fall. He watched lions push deer and sheep around on 3 different occasions. His guide said hardly anyone will hunt them out there due to the ruggedness and how far it is from any civilization.

    Cougar Harvest Numbers??

Maybe but I doubt it. Utah is a special breed. We're always looking for an excuse to hunt something. Doesn't Nevada make you check a box it you DON'T want a lion tag? I haven't applied there for a few years so I can't remember. Aren't Utahns coming into NV and messing things up? I know a few...

    Cougar Harvest Numbers??

I would love to see a report on the method lions are killed in utah. I'll bet it's still upwards or 95% hound hunting. Yet houndsmen are all pissed that you could trap, or stalk kill them. The law change needed to happen. Houndsmen had a monopoly on hunting lions in Utah. They all pretended to...

    TWEAKING AN ODOMETER???

I pulled the cluster fuse to get more miles out of my lds mission car (99 Cavalier). They allocated me 1000 miles a month, and we had a 950 square mile area. We'd burn through 1000 miles in 2 weeks. Ironic that my Great Great Great Grandfather invented the odometer (roadometer).

How about a bounty on lions?

Now that there are no tag quotas to fill in Utah, does anyone but houndsmen actually believe cat numbers will decline? I've seen 2 different posts on social media where a lion was trapped, and the houndsmen pounced like snowflake blue-hairs on Trump. The crap that was being said was worse than...

    Are Mule Deer Going Extinct?

Reduction of lions in our area has made a big difference to our mule deer population. When the DWR issued harvest objective permits for 86 lions to be taken on the east side of our valley 3 years ago, we saw more than double the number of deer the next winter. So far, it's been holding steady...

How about a bounty on lions?

Are Houndsmen an anti-hunting group? It's no mystery they want the same thing. Both houndsmen and california libtards want more lions, which equates to less deer and elk.
