Lots of young bucks this year. We hunted it this year. Saw 20+ deer a day but no big bucks.

I'd bet he got gored by another bull in a fight.

I've seen deer/bucks in areas still smoldering. Animals will congrigate to fire areas for different reasons...flea/tick repel, fresh green feed etc. I wish the whole state would burn.....

Why not just hunt with the 150? It'll kill any mule deer just fine. I shoot the Nosler 120 gr Ballistic Tip for everything out of my 280 Ackley.

Spoon Creek Outfitters would be your best bet in Southern Oregon. You can buy a tag over the counter for the general season. If you are an archery hunter there is a season in late Nov/Dec. You can apply for a muzzleloader tag, but have to get your application in by May 15. The outfitter may...

Pick a finger ridge and start up it. The deer stay up in the rocks until belly deep snow pushes them down. I had the rifle tag last year. We hunted both sides. Plenty of deer on either side.

I hunted deer in 70 a couple years back and wherever we saw bull moose there was a road or quad trail really close.

I live in Oregon, but my wife's cousin just moved to Basalt. Is there any good deer hunting around that area? I don't have any points, but will start applying.

40 deer 54 elk When should the draws be out?

What is the best map to obtain that shows roads? I will be picking up a OnXmap chip for my Rino but would like a paper map for seeing the big picture.

Anybody have any experience in this unit? I drew this tag on a recommendation from a good friend who hunted it last year, buts its never bad to have more than one opinion on where to go etc.

I put in for Walla Walla elk, Juniper Antelope and White River Late buck. Thought about putting in for lessor units but I can draw most of those with points. I'll never have an opportunity at the hard to get hunts with the point creep.

Just thought I'd see if I could get some help into finding a unit to apply for with 8 Non-Res points. I would like a unit in the northern half of the state (I live in Oregon). Would prefer a rut/pre-rut hunt. Any suggestions appreciated.

Didn't see much, 13 sheep total with 4 being rams. Spoke to a couple previous tag holders and they both said have patience as the sheep are there, just take a while to learn how to spot them. We did stalk a young 140" ram that was bedded on the edge of a canyon and got within 50 yards of him...

Spent yesterday at the Orientation. What a great day! My wife is stoked! Next Saturday we are headed over with Ron (OregonTK) for the first scouting trip.
