Did AZ just hand out elk tags right and left? I got one too, in a unit that should have taken 21ish points. I had 12. My wife will most likely draw a 3rd season CO deer tag. That's my 3 weeks of vacation. If we draw anything else, there's going to be trouble.
Some components are still unavailable so it depends on what you want to load for. I looked for 2 years for some RL26. I got lucky a few months ago and got all that I wanted. I haven't seen it available again since.
Someone with a boat load of money needs to start an advertising campaign over the entire west SHOWING people that reality, along with a few pet dinners and maybe some people who have been attacked. Even ask for donations like the commercials for the 'poor starving pets.' Wake some people up.
Wouldn't surpise me if they secretly expedite the process and release them anyway, then say 'woops, sorry, what ya gonna do?" Seems like a democrat thing to do.
Just bought a flagship target bow that's a year old, excellent condition for 30% of new and no sales tax. I don't think I'll buy a new one again, ever.
I would have to disagree. IF the wolves would be released in Denver, then I may agree, but those in Denver voted to release wolves far from them.
Another example: How about MM have a vote on banning SS. Fair? lol
It's my understanding that a few from the book cliffs have crossed over into Colorado at times and when they do, they're free game for anyone. Is that correct?
Here's what I was thinking the past few days. I have been a Utah resident since I was born. I have 4 deer on my wall. 3 of them are from Colorado. 1 is from Utah. That makes me sad. lol
Funny, the first 3 on your list are there because at one time they got so bad that they shut them down for 5 years, and BAM! Best units in the state. (at least when the Books was opened)
IDK about the other 3 on your list.
I remember hunting in the Book Cliffs and Diamond Mtn when you could just go buy a tag. The old Hawken with percussion cap and a round ball in November. That was a LOT funner than the hunt now. I hunted the September hunt with my White Super 91 and a 1x scope once. It's just not the same so...
Either Savage 110 in .308 shooting 168 gr TSX or a Savage 110 Precision in 338 Lapua shooting 210 gr Hammer Hunter. Both are killers.
Got my eye on a Savage Ultralite in .308.
My wife told me they're having trouble at the high school here, the school refused to put litter boxes in the bathrooms so the furries are crapping in the halls to protest.
2 years ago I counted over 100 on Winter Ridge one morning.
The BLM's management plan is to have zero horses out there, but every time they'd remove them, more would come over from the Reservation, so the gave up. It's a free for all for the horses now.
Like I said, IDK how much would be enough. $500? $1000? At some point, there would be so many killed that the state would step in and say enough. The trick is kill as many as possible before that happened. lol
I remember APR installed in the Book Cliffs. Previous to that, we might have seen a few trucks per day. Beginning that year, it was a pumkin-fest. Everybody and their dogs showed up expecting there to be big bucks everywhere. THAT was the beginning of the decline that led to them shutting...
IDK what $ would be incentive enough, but I think the houndsmen are who would need to be targeted. They're going chasing cats anyway, just have to get them to shoot instead of release. Maybe $100? That's pretty freakin' cheap to save 50 deer in the first year. I'd donate to the cause, but I...
The number I've seen is each lion kills about 50 deer a year. Now do the calculations of how may deer that killing one lion saves over 4 years, counting all the fawns that would be produced. That's a lot of deer.
Now that it's legal in Utah to kill a lion with simply a hunting license...
