Definity doesn't take that long

I found out in August a buck I had watched the previous 2 years survived winter. I sat in line in Sept as the first person at IDFG to get the 1 tag available and got it. Third day of season he walked out and 1 shot was down.

yup! you could elimintate today all non resident tags and in 8-10 years the new "residents" would surpass the non resident quota. ID simply cannot keep issuing resident tags at the rate of the population growth. The Non resident quota hasnt changed in 40 years

no kidding! I have drawn that tag twice and so has my wife plus elk once and have spent a ton of time on the snake side of the unit. I saw 1 buck in all that time in there that was pushing 190" and I had a elk tag that year. Are there some big bucks in there? for sure, but there is some luck...

better than max point state! rather have a shot than the BS of UT or WY etc.

4 weeks? we could see online results as early as late next week and most likely the following week

The deer numbers have plummeted in the NE corner in last 10 years thanks to our wonderful management of predators in WA. Pretty sad to see what has happened

I remember reading something about Nevada gaming laws that they could not charge cc before results were posted

keep believing, the harvest stats in those units did not lie as the age class was far higher. Nope way further north than UT

the f&*( they dont. I live in a state that did a 4pt min on whitetails for 3 years. The quality jumped way up.

Drew 14 a few years ago and learned nobody hikes. We hunted 4 days and never saw a single hunter out of their sxs or truck

I too will also be there on late elk hunt. There is 2 snotels you can google on clear creek on the skyline road. One is 9k showing 10" as of 11-5 the other is 8k and showing 7' as of 11-6

there isnt archery elk tags unless you draw a permit for a specific area and season. general tags are open to hunt with specific weapon and season in the regs

but what units are you applying for....

which doesnt fix much of anything and the resident population continues to grow. The ratio of NR to R hunters 30 years ago isnt even close today. You cut half the NR tags and in 2 years that many of R hunters will occupy those same tags. Units need to be managed and its coming mark my words in 5...

Yup and that needs to change. It’s not fair to many people. Lots cannot be online trying to get a tag at 10am during the week. They need to make it draw and anything underdrawn will be first come first serve after draw.

Yeah it does! As the resident population explodes you cannot continue to operate the same every thing as 40 years ago! The non resident quota hasn’t changed in 30 plus years yet the resident hunters is 20x greater.

I agree 10 points is nothing for OIL tags and depending on what elk and deer tags you apply for its nothing. Id spend that money easily on MT combo or ID tags over applying in this crappy state

same here WA is a backburner hunt for me if Im home from hunting another state. So far Im hunting ID rifle elk, MT combo deer and elk and UT late manti elk

Well I lucked out and drew a manti late tag in the random. For the guys who have experience on this unit what type of bull would you hold out for? I have heard that you will turn up some good bulls, but they could be busted up. I've been told to not pass a 320" and I've also been told not to...

its not 11 out of 11. its 1 out 15 apps at best a year.I dont apply for the strip, henrys, san juan etc. I apply for realistic expectations and somewhat of a shot at a tag and get to hunt pretty good units.

what units are they applying for? I dont put in that many states and in the last 11 years drawn have drawn 11 tags from WA,ID,UT and NV
