Anyone filmed any of their New Mexico hunts? For those that have was it worth the extra prep and work? Seems elk hunts are a good opportunity to show the challenges of hunting the backcountry.

How did the hunt go in Sugarite Park? Curious what you thought of the unit...elk activity, terrain, caomping logisitcs etc.

What's the elk activity like in the Humphries? I've read old posts but they're from between 3-8 years old. Anyone have recent first hand experience or anecdotal evidence of good bulls there? Curious if anyone hunted it in 2016 or 2017.

Not specific to bucks only, but Cloudcroft has mulies all over the place. Get into some public land north of town.

Fellas- I drew an off-range Oryx tag in December. I've scouted a bit west of the missle range and haven't seen anything. I'm primarily an elk and deer guy so this will likely be my only Oryx hunt if I'm successful. Any knowledge to share or any tips on where to find these guys?

DoeNob, how about Ft. Stanton BLM area? The people I've talked to have mixed reviews whether there are elk in there or not. What do you know about it?

Thanks for the input. As the crow flies it might look short, but everyone tells me the hikes are rugged and steep/deep.

I have the first archery hunt this year. I'm scouting the western section of the Lincoln Nat'l Forest. Can anyone suggest access roads further north of the Three Rivers site? Any hints on elk herds in 36 are also greatly appreciated, I've never hunted 36 before.
