    How Rough 44-45-47-444 and 80-81

I have some experience with 81. Terrain wise it is your basic Colorado. Not extreme but not totally flat either. As far as hunting, I think it has been over hunted and you will see more orange than animals. But I have only hunted it with rifle . I would not spend non res $ to hunt it.

    What to look for?

You can find migration routes on most decent apps now days. If not Cabelas sells maps with migration routes. Other wise what @txhunter58 said above is what I usually do as well. I think I know the areas you are looking at and normally you would be spot on But with a super hard winter kill and...

Someone willing to talk about CO

Don't forget to apply him for the Colorado youth outreach program. It is a cool free program that CPW puts on for youth hunters for deer and Cow elk on private ranches. One of my sons got drawn and it was a very memorable experience.

UHH. No, It would have been an easy assumption since Dusty lives in 21 ,but that is not where his buck was from and since you do not know him, it is irrelevant. I thought we were done with the Stabs but apparently not? Fyi, I will be spending quiet a lot of time up on the Unc. this summer...

That is my opinion, sorry if you don't agree. Sure you might see some bruisers in those units in late Nov/Dec but very few during any open season

So according to you it's as great as it ever was and hasn't declined at all? I guess everyone's opinions and experiences are just fake news?

uhhh, was I asking you? Don't believe I was. but since you chimed in, just how many 5+ year old bucks have you seen personally in the last 4 years?

right! I guess the fact res points for a 21-3rd season tag used to be double digits and is now single digits isn't a reflection of anything?;)

Uhhh, Good for you! There are big bucks killed in lots of units every year. Does that mean those units are in the same great shape they were 10 years ago?

    SXS mileage

We have 3 SXS's currently. 2-2 seaters and 1-4 seater. 2 are polaris and 1 is a kawasaki. I have owned about everything at one time or another. I totally agree that using a sxs or a quad to travel over the rough stuff is the way to go rather than beating on your only ride home. Like others...

If you go into it with a good attitude and just have a fun last hunt, you will have just that. If you go into it looking for a brute, you will be disappointed and will not find one 200 yards from the truck. If I were you , I would go have a great time with your dad, glassing, looking over a few...

    Proposed season structure 2025-2029

I have as well when I burned 16 points on a 4th season buck tag. Maybe 1st rifle is for elk only and 4th season is for buck only or just not have a 4th season?

Having spent over 10 years in those units. It is disgusting how the area has went down hill. There is not a mature buck left in either unit. Sure you will see a few forkies and basket horn bucks. But where you used to see over 100 deer per day , you will now see 10. I grabbed a 22 second...

Try getting them online? I agree the new system does suck! but other than calling the next 5 guys in line what would be a solution? It would have to be a solution that would generate $$ like a raffle or auction or CPW would not go for it I am sure. Id be fine with a weekly redraw for reissue...

Well, I guess we can all agree to disagree. I think the ability to return a tag should be a little more strict but not SOL. It is easy for some to say at this stage but when life happens that decision would suck.

They call the next 5 inline for any 5+ point tag and if they all refuse it goes to the list. By the time all that happens it is usually close to or into the season already at which time I sure wouldn't want to burn my points with no time to prepare

Colorado does reach out to the next tag holder in line on units that require more than 5 points. If no one wants it, then it hits the leftover list. I have been contacted 3 times and asked if I want the tag
