I have a feeling more tags will go towards the second season. I would guess that they know the vulnerability of bucks in the later seasons so tags may get re-allotted around to the second season. Just taking a guess at it....

If you have an ATV or UTV I think with some of your limitations you could have a really fun hunt in 66 2nd. Lots of glass-able areas.

I hunted 66 second season and saw some nice bucks but yeah getting to the 180 mark second season can be tough. On the Wednesday of that week I was out there early driving to a glassing point when I saw this guy bedded 120 yards off the trail and decided he was good enough for me.

Well after a long winter my brother, buddy and me made it out for the opener in Colorado and the first day stunk as we put on a ton of miles for one dead had tiny but second day we moved areas and even after watching two guys go through the area we put the glass to work and started tearing it up.

Between the reservoir and 149 is better as the later seasons come on. Atv or UTV is a great help to access all the roads without killing a newer vehicle. By late 3rd season, those bucks get a little calmer and will let you drive by them when you see them as long as you don't stop. Fun hunt...

Tabeguache creek area is good, carry on from there onto the Houser rd also has some good stuff. Windy point also, I think my brother ended up killing his bull around Red Canyon just off Highway 90.

3rd season 66 is a great hunt and you will see plenty of bucks.

Another thing that adds to it is the 2nd choice draw tags. We are one of the only states that offer 2nd choice so all first choice have to draw then another draw is held for 2nd choice.
