I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this hunt this year. I've only hunted unit 43, and 47 muzzy and archery. I think I have all the basins memorized as I've been looking at google earth for months. I'm hoping for some help in Private Messages from guys that have hunted it before...

I hunted the Book Cliffs Muzzy Mule deer this year and never would of imagined the number of road hunters. I shot my deer the first day several miles from the road, and on the way out the divide road that evening I was a little scared...saw smoke flying out of several truck windows and off...

I'm in the same boat and was considering the same hunt. I know some outfitters hunt the Ute drainage. If you look at the Colorado atlas and overlay the elk filters it may give you some ideas. With horses you should have a good hunt.

The Garmin inreach explorer with SOS function is awesome. I used it on a solo hunt last year. You can text and send your location to loved ones. If needed, the SOS function could be used for grave situations. Gave me some piece of mind on my hunt.

You could draw a few muzzy hunts that would be good. With mules, you could get into some good spots. good luck on which ever hunt you decide.
