I did the CHAMP hunt a few years back which was AFTER the cow hunts. Elk were well dispersed due to the number of tags and family scouters.

Check the youth / cow hunt dates for that unit 10 ML hunt. Make sure your hunt is BEORE it Don’t ask me how I know

Check the peaks and saddles around lone cone There’s elk all through the area. Hunt early, stay late. Sit water if warm. It’s all about finding them and elk move around. Stay mobile

Drove out to No Az to check out my unit. Tanks are 1/2 full and lots of green grass everywhere. Really looks good. Good deer and elk sign. Looks great! So as we are driving out in the dark, a small furry looking creature ran out onto The roadway, stopped, looked at us, turned and bolted away...

Another alternative is to souse vide them. Low heat, water immersion. It’ll turn shoe leather into a filet.

Anyone with any inside information on the AZ Camp Nav 6B elk hunts this year? Their website says hunts are still on but got me wondering if they’ll shut it down last minute with this CV19 crap. Might need a backup plan
