Wagonhound should be considered if the high price is not a problem.

Near Wheatland there is a well respected outfitter that hunts area 6, but I can't remember his name this morning. Table Mountain does not have a lot of fans among the locals.

    Corner Crossing Lawsuit Update

That was my point - two way street. I have read various places that some fellows are claiming that Onx will prove something with great accuracy, and now the chant seems to be that Onx does not. I would imagine that landowners do have their exterior points surveyed, and maybe marked, but...

    Corner Crossing Lawsuit Update

My comment did not pertain to this case. These particular corners in this case were marked, but what about unmarked corners? I understand that most internet fellows want this case to open the doors to legal methods of corner crossing simply by using their GPS.

    Corner Crossing Lawsuit Update

If Onx and GPS are as inaccurate as claimed on this thread then how is it that people that are crossing at an unmarked corner can claim that it proves that they did not trespass? You can not have it both ways.

    Airline travel, best rifle case?

My Tuffpak 1050 has been to many far away places and has held up very well. Multiple trips to Africa and Europe included. It lacks big flat sides so that the baggage handlers can not stack heavy stuff on top, it would be hard to throw, and it looks like a golf club case. Having a case that...

    Airline optics

I have seen people that had to check their "carry on" due to size or weight. Each airline has it's own rules for allowable carry on, but it all depends on the gate crew. Sometimes they check, sometimes they do not. If you have to check your pack, your pack and optics will be treated with the...

Newbie Hunter from Wyo with Some Questions - Semi-permanent blind during season?

There are BLM rules for blinds that you should read if hunting BLM. There are also rules for different types of public property (National Forest, etc.), and also sometimes specific rules by area. WG&F are not the only rule makers. Determine what type of land you intend to hunt.

    76 Archery Elk

Frazier is the best that I know in 76. I have seen others come and go (bought and sold), but Frazier's outfit is still family members last I heard. The newer guys may be OK, but if it was me the call would be Frazier.

Another old man looking to burn elk points in 2023

I have hunted Wagonhound more than once. It is a great piece of property and the guides are certainly topnotch. They can get to much of the property by vehicle, but there is still effort and usually many bootprints required. Where the cattle roam it is open and fairly flat, but they do have...

    Game Processors in Casper

Rocky Mountain Sports is on CY Ave. on the West side of town and there is a Sportsman's Warehouse on 2nd St. about two blocks from a Walmart in the East side of town. If you like barbeque there is a very good spot on Yellowstone Blvd. very near I-25 in the East side of town. The building...

    Unit 76 colorado

Didn't Ash Tulley buy Jake Powell's business? If that is the same guy and he hunts the same area it will be on the extreme Eastern edge of 76 that borders 79. On my way to my spike camp I used to hike past Jake's camp on Farmer's Creek. He also had a camp further up the same trail where he...

Unit 34 info, big horn to a newby

Shame on you fellows for not giving the new guy (that apparently can't read the regs) exactly what he wanted, exactly when he wanted! All he wants is a location, elevation, and campsites.

I really like the Euro mounts for buffalo. That looks great.

    unit 73 inquiry

I stay at the Ramkota when hunting on the West end of town, and the C'mon Inn when hunting on the East end. For hunting #73 I would recommend the Ramkota.

    Whats he score?

It is hard to tell much from that photo, but with his mass I am going to guess 79". How tall are the horns?
  20. S

    Whats he score?

I will go with 72". He looks like he has good bases, but he is very short. The curved prongs are hard to judge without another angle, but they did not look longer than an average buck to me.

    Game Processors in Casper

Pat's usually has the best prices in Casper. Dan's is good but sometimes they get too busy to take more business for a couple of days. There is also Tom's Big Game Processing in Douglas, and the one in Glenrock (can't remember name) that can take care of your pronghorn. I hope you have...

Unit 76 Colorado 3rd season elk

Frazier has been around for a long time and is a good outfit. I have spent a lot of time over the years in Mineral County and I don't remember anyone ever saying anything bad about Frazier's outfit. They would be my choice for a guide in 76. If I remember right, Dick Davis is Sammy's...

    Fence ladders

I do not know what the defendants fees in Wyoming will be, but in many places $70,000 is not considered a large war chest. We tell out NOVA/DC area clients to expect somewhere around $40,000-$50,000 in fees if a nasty contested divorce goes to court, with absolutely no guarantees on the...

Unit 76 Colorado 3rd season elk

I usually hunt a fair distance from any road, including two tracts. I also eventually get away from the established trail system that most fellows follow, including the horse guys. A couple of miles on an established trail and then another mile or so away from it into rough country would be a...

Unit 76 Colorado 3rd season elk

If you are mentally tough enough, and in excellent shape, 76 3rd can be a good DIY hunt without horses. If a fellow is not both in terrific shape and mentally tough it can be a miserable hunt. You will be counting on your legs and lungs to do the job. I know 76 very well and I am having...

Colorado Unit 76 4th elk season

I like third season better than second in 76. The biggest bull that I have taken from 76 came in a third season hunt. You can not control the weather but the weather will be a very large factor in where the elk are in a unit like 76. Yes, it can be hunted DIY in third - if you are in shape...

Colorado Unit 76 4th elk season

If there is a heavy snow early in 76 there are a lot of elk tracks headed to lower elevations than the public land. I have seen herds of elk bedded on Wason Ranch (down by the river), and I can remember a couple of years when most of the elk just left the unit. I have also seen many cow...

Drone Trespass Bill, Mean anything to to the Corner Case?

Airspace that can be navigated by aircraft is generally the space over 500 feet from ground level. I believe that we will see strong air space laws aimed at drone usage. There seems to be support for allowing a "drone zone" in the layer between 400 and 500 feet in many places, although there...

    .338 Win Mag Elk/Moose Load.

Out of the four dozen or so elk I have taken, at least a dozen bulls were by using the 210 Nosler and I can't remember ever recovering a spent bullet. It can be loaded to be a couple hundred fps faster than their excellent 250, and it is a tough bullet. I have had good luck with the 225...

    Acceptable Hotel in Rawlins

When I am in Rawlins I stay at the Comfort Inn. It is mid-level in price and clean. There are a couple of other hotels very close to the Comfort Inn that should be good also. You have better make reservations somewhere ASAP. "Cheap" hotels are inexpensive for a reason. Good luck.

    Binoculars around $1000

I have Swarovski, Zeiss Conquest, and Meopta binoculars, and have used the top of the line Vortex. For that price I would clearly pass on the Vortex. The Zeiss Conquest is good. Do yourself a favor and look very hard at Meopta.

    Lightweight gun case for travel

When I fly I usually carry two rifles in soft cases inside a Tuffpak and have room for a jacket, cleaning kit, and binoculars within the 50 lb. limit. Baggage handlers seem to take joy in throwing gun cases and stacking heavy luggage on top of them. The Tuffpak is extremely strong and shaped...

    Taxidermist for Euro

The guy that runs Trails West in Rawlins did a nice job of processing and cleaned and bleached the skull of a pronghorn for me a couple of years ago. He did a very nice job, and had the skull ready when I picked up the meat two days later. It makes a good looking euro mount.

    Unit 62 antelope

If you must be guided it would be best to contact Ed at Wyoming Adventures (mentioned above). I have hunted that ranch with mixed results. There is enough checkerboard public to have a nice hunt without a guide in the areas in and around that ranch. Occasionally a really big pronghorn comes...
