I’ve seen more big bulls killed so far than I’ve seen in years. The winter rains from last year followed by the spring moisture definitely has horn growth looking phenomenal.
The cc hits started and stopped quickly. I’m assuming they caught a glitch happening and shut it down trying to resolve it. I’m still thinking we are gonna see a big wave of hits either today or tomorrow.
I don’t think it’s done. I haven’t seen (1) post on a sheep hit. I think around 4pm a big wave will get hit just like the elk/antelope draw. 20 min and counting.
Who got there cards hit? Based on history I should of drawn my deer tag but no hits yet. I think most units will see a huge point creep happening this year. Congrats to everyone who drew!
Drew a unit 20 archery antelope tag. Will be scouting quite a bit. Just curious on expectations for size and access into the unit. Anyone have any Insight?
Assuming this hunt stays for 2023 what’s the thoughts on this hunt for 180”+ type bucks? From what I understand it’s a weather dependent type hunt getting bucks from the top dropping down and bucks from the Pauns in Utah migrating into the unit. Looks like this year the hunt will be a week later...
I’m super happy about this. This needed to happen years ago. I can’t just buy a tag in the prime rut for other states I don’t live in and go hunt. I’d like the to see it capped at even less.

This morning we left Clovis New Mexico unit 40. Somewhere from Clovis to Fort Sumner to the I-40 one of the guys had there Mathews VXR in a soft case blow out the back of the truck. If anyone finds or see’s it posted that it was found please call or text me.

Thx for all the info guys. Been bow hunting for 30+ years and hunt numerous states every year. Going into this hunt with 140”+ expectation and won’t just shoot something to kill. I believe in age class.
How’s 2A looking for deer? Heading up there for the Jan archery deer hunt. Will head up a a few days early to look around. Did Colorado get enough snow to migrate the deer down?
Looking to trade this excellent shape 65mm Swaro obj for a swaro 95mm plus cash. If your interested in this Lmk. Box, manuals, warranty card, sticker etc all included.
Yup. I think I got the last (2). You pretty much have to look daily. I called Hodgdon and the guy said when western sold to them that they shipped everything they had out and left Hodgdon with 0 inventory. He said they will making one more batch and shipping in 2 weeks then there done making it...
Unit 1 and 27 are pretty sought after. Excellent units. Takes 18pts to guarantee that elk tag as a non resident for archery. A few bulls every year come out of there pushing 400inches. The jimmy John Bull last year which was well over 4hundy came out of 27.
I wouldnt get caught up in the negativity. I drew an elk tag back in 2016 and I had guys question why I put in for the unit etc. I came out on that hunt with a 391” bull. My point is don’t get caught up in all the BS. Hunt hard. Good luck!
As a non resident of New Mexico any starting point from a resident is huge. It give most guys an area to look over on maps, google earth etc. I understand where your coming from when it comes to a resident. I put in for (6) states every year and the states I’ve drawn in the past I’ve always got...
What a huge bull! Community member, ruthunter, shared this photo in a thread in the Elk Forum called, "In what state did you score on your best bull?" It's a POLL, so join in here...>>> https://www.monstermuleys.info/xf/threads/in-what-state-did-you-score-on-your-best-bull.188038/
Congrats on the tag. We hunted 41-42 last year on private during the archery hunt near Logan New Mexico. There was public land amongst the private but ONX is a must to see where you are at all times. The biggest buck we saw was on the 41 side. He was all of mid 80’s if not better. I killed a...
