I hunted 67 2nd season last year. Spent almost 10 days in the unit. Killed an old mature buck with huge backs and small fronts. He was by far the biggest buck I saw.

I have witnessed some pretty tough winters since I moved to Idaho, the elk seem to be absolutely unfazed by bad winters. Deer get slaughtered.

I don’t think the big bucks are there in the numbers everyone believes. I saw two bigger deer on my Idaho general hunt than I did on my Gunnison basin hunt. That says a lot. I feel the big buck densities are incredibly low, tons of bucks, just very few big bucks.

my daughter killed a bull at 385 and I killed a deer at 470 with the LRAB. Both performed flawlessly. I love them.

That’s a very hard point to stand behind… so no one can ever go hunt the Dakotas unless your a resident, can never deep sea fish in Alaska or Hawaii etc unless your a resident. Can’t chase quail in Arizona unless your a resident. We all have to stay within a few square miles of our residence...

Deer hunting in Idaho is a joke. And it’s not the NR killing two points, it’s the residents whacking every little buck walking around. You want to compare WY to ID?!? At least when you draw a tag in Wyoming you actually see deer!!! ?? No one’s gonna waste 5 years of points to hunt a general...

Ended the season last night on a great bull. I located this bull bedded down right at dark and she made a great shot. Couldn’t be more proud of her.

Wolves bring a lot of hysteria to the table, I moved to eastern Idaho from Utah five years ago. I was told how horrible the elk hunting is and that the wolves have destroyed it. I have had five years of the best elk hunting I have ever been involved in, and I hunt in a wolf zone. And everywhere...

My wife’s 2020 bull
