Been taking Hwy 58 on my way to my Nov. elk hunt in Colorado for 23 years. We've had snow on a couple trips but hwy has always been in good shape. We're rolling on the 5th, can't wait.

Great job for you and your son. I have killed a couple elk that have been run hard prior to me shooting them. When they are amped up they just don't react to a fatal hit like a calm elk will.

I put one on my varmint rifle years ago and realized that I tended to cant my rifle even shooting from the bench. So I put one on my elk rifle and found that my groups when testing reloads improved a fair amount. I now have them on several of my mountain rifles because like Live4 said above...

Man this is tough as I get ready to head to Colorado for elk, which was always my dad's and my big trip each year. Dad passed away in 2018. Have tons and tons of pics of him and they are on a constant loop for the screen saver on my computer so I look at them all the time. Here's to our dads! ?

If its pretty cold, you will find that the memory foam gets really hard.

I had the ulnar nerves moved on both elbows about a year and a half ago. As well as a torn tendon repair and tendonitis repair. If your doc doesn't do any work on your tendons, you should heal pretty quick. Took me a long time to gain strength again.

Jeep. I've hunted the December cow hunt there several times, I always just used my pickup. The distances are long out there and it would make for a long day on a 4 wheeler.

A fun one that dad was really proud of. We both got our first elk that year (2007) and had several days to kill before heading home. Our camp was overrun with mice and dad made it his mission to clear out camp. Great memory!

Dad's first elk in 2007. He had hunted with a group of guys for about 10 years and they never scored. I got out of school and established in a career and could finally go. Took us a few years to make things happen and this was the result.

My dad's last elk, he passed away the next spring.

Third season SW Colorado, OTC unit. Third day my buddy took this bull in the same spot he got his bull two years ago. By the far the biggest bull we've taken so far.

Back in the 80's when I worked for the Forest Service the Forest Service Law Enforcement Officers actively patrolled the forest when it was closed. Tickets were the equivalent to a trespass ticket. Not sure if it is different now.

Other post is right on, very few deer in that area until snow in the park. I've had the G37 tag twice and I used to work up there.

That's what the area badly needed, it has really grown in thick since the past fires.

Both times I hunted it (mine and my father's hunt) it was warm and dry, very tough hunting.
