The great area of the ammo transfer law is hunters can share ammo in the field. So walk out into a field when you hand it to a hunter. ;)

I'm guessing there won't be any bonus tags for Dutton or any of the other smaller units for non residents with the new tag splits. Pick one of the larger units that has more tags with 22 points and hope for hope for a bonus tag on the mid season hunt.

My Browning x bolt 7MM rem mag didn't like Barnes tsx. Nosler etips grouped the best and I killed a elk with ONE last year.

I am not sure there would be many if any elk tags left after the draw, maybe the spike tags and a few antlerless. In my opinion most guys with less than five points would put in for a LE unit first choice then burn points to hunt another tag yearly. This would put a dent in point creep.

I've hunted with several different calibers. 30-06 308 45-70 7MM rem mag Only killed deer with. 30-06 Elk 7MM rem mag.

My Mt. Dutton bull I was by myself so my field pictures were limited. This was my walk up shot.

Being a non resident the three LE elk season concerns me as to how they will split the rifle tags on the smaller units. If there are only three or four tags for rifle hunters there would be no bonus tags at all with three seasons.

My son is on a business trip in Greenwood village near Denver tech center. He has some free time tomorrow and wants to do a hike with a good chance of seeing rutting elk. Anyone know of a decent spot near there to see elk not to hunt just view?

Killing a bull on a LE unit and still build bonus points =point creep. Put the spike tags in the Elk drawing if you draw one you burn your points.

What about limiting the transportation tech? Larger roadless areas, closing half the ATV trails during hunting seasons or street legal vehicles only.

Since supply is not keeping up with demand this is the only way that I can see to slow point creep.

I blew out a pair of boots on Dutton on a cow elk hunt so yes two pairs for this hunt.
