Had an amazing time chasing elk in the high country for 12 days. Hunting was a bit tougher this year, I was grateful to get a shot at this bull.

Haha, yeah you gotta really trust anyone you show your mount to especially if you put the name of the mountain on it like I did. I don't mind with my mountain goat but I wouldnt put the name on my favorite elk and deer spots. I just got word yesterday my goat mount is done so I gotta go pick...

My buddy was showing me some cool stuff he was doing with his 3D printer and showed me a mountain he printed. I had him print me one up of the mountain I took my goat on. It's still being mounted so got it sitting on my deer mount for now.

Such a sweet bull. I have to put my hands on a bull and stare at them for like 10 min and then I can usually guess pretty close. I haven't found a bull yet that will let me do that before shooting them ?

No you cannot hunt the army depot on the north side, that is a separate draw tag.

Cell service is pretty patch at best through a lot of that country. I'd say unless you have a target buck scouted out it's not critical to get out for the opener. I'm not sure exactly on season dates but I'd try and get your tag filled before the general deer season starts.

I had the same tag a few years back, no secret spots in the unit, you just need to get out putting some miles on driving through the high desert.

Yes!!! Archery elk tag for me, so stoked, had the same tag in 2016.

Maybe they should make it retroactive back 20 years, if you have applied for the last 20 years you start out with 20 points ?
