What'll be classic is when they cap all the zones at 10% of resident numbers and all the whiney as NR hunters get to experience the Middle Fork/Selway/Northern Panhandle zones as fallback areas. 13 days and 1 elk spotted 2 drainages away. That's the only zones that will have tags available...

Because we dont need a draw. That's the exact thinking and complaining that residents despise. So a NR cant get a tag and they start whining about it not being fair and X/Y zone need to be a draw. Like was stated above, if you survey Idaho residents they'd prefer increasing prices and reducing...

Correct, not sorry....getting a coveted elk tag as a NR is not a right, nor should it be expected. Be grateful you even have that opportunity.

You sir need new lenses on your glasses. I personally dont hunt 31, but do spend lots of time in multiple units and zones during September/October/November and that's not what I'm seeing.

No draw! Most of those dedicated enough and really WANT the capped tags, get them. Sawtooth for example is over-hyped. I know dozens who THINK they want the tag for no other reason than it sells out fast. Just like the draw tags, people have no idea what they're even after, but boy it must be...

I've been on that stretch about a dozen times in 2 different boats and in that sample size, 1 boat sunk, and 3 others hit rocks and did major damage. I didnt witness any of this actually happen, but heard about it at the ramp. Maybe I'm bad luck lol.

That stretch is extremely technical and varies from chocolate, stick filled soup in the spring to bony and rocky in the fall. There are several commercial outfits that run it full time. If you referring to hunting season, there are at least 3 outfitters that hunt it and its literally un-huntable...

Done it several times. Depends on water flow and how experienced you are. I wouldnt even consider it with that setup during spring runoff. And if you've never run that stretch you should be VERY experienced running whitewater before tackling the lines in there. I've run it from 2500-30k cfs. Big...

100%. Because now the demand is higher....and this would also highly discourage folks from banging dink bucks. You arent dropping 800 to shoot an opening morning forkie. Same token, residents that bang the first buck they see and fall back on a second tag would have to think long and hard. But...

Cut the number of NR in half, double the price. It's that simple! True supply and demand, something all of us in the private industry deal with everyday. Done deal... everyones happy, and quality of the hunt/animal is higher.
