    Sportsman's Bull on KSL Outdoors

Maybe they paid for the exposure, and/or discounted the fee for the hunter based on having it filmed and put on KSL. I have no idea and really have no dog in this fight at all, just a thought. If that's the case I'm sure that's a negative in many people's eyes as well, just more $$ ruling the...

    Sportsman's Bull on KSL Outdoors

Awesome bull, and the hunter (have no idea, going only on this video) seems like a normal dude and hopefully enjoyed the experience, drawing a Sportsman tag would be incredible! I'll echo Founder, what is the illegal part of all this? Not trying to start some argument, just feel like I must be...

    Wasatch LE Early Elk Hunt

That is for sure! Just like when I had a goat tag, for years the plan was to shoot one with a bow, "these things are dumb, shouldn't be too hard." Couple days into the hunt..."give me that rifle!" haha

    Wasatch LE Early Elk Hunt

I ended up able to hunt 10 of the 12 days of the muzzleloader season, didn't fill the tag. I could have shot a handful (though way fewer of those "chances" than I expected going in) of small bulls, only laid eyes on a couple the whole time that I felt like would break 300", though that is...

    Wasatch LE Early Elk Hunt

I do think the mid season is looking to be money this year. I've killed plenty of spikes by chasing bugles in October over the years even on "normal" rut years, with whatever his happening this year they could be really going next week. I'm headed back tomorrow for the last three days of...

    Wasatch LE Early Elk Hunt

Haha well hey man, mine was getting pretty itchy towards the end of the week too and I’m definitely not 14! Hope you guys have a great hunt. That mid season tag might be the best one this year! Good luck!

    Wasatch LE Early Elk Hunt

Good luck! Love those nasty spots up there to be honest, so much of the unit has so much traffic, not just hunters but all the campers, etc too. Obviously not telling anyone new info here, haha, just saying I love the chance to get away from all that! Hope you kill him and post the pics!

    Wasatch LE Early Elk Hunt

I spent the last 7 days on the Wasatch with a muzzleloader tag in my pocket. Definitely tough sledding compared to previous years for me at least, I've hunted the unit every year (spikes, cows, deer, other guys' bull tags) for close to 20 years now. That makes me feel old! Haha! First couple...

    Elk management meeting today

Lots of subjects being tossed around here, appreciate you Karl for coming on and answering a bunch of questions, you're a brave man! I just have one comment about bonus points, you'd mentioned that you feel that UT's system is the most fair and I don't disagree. I do sometimes feel like a...

    Kodiak Deer Hunt Recommendations

I hunted with Larsen Bay Lodge in 2019. Mike Carlson (owner) has native ties which allows access to some otherwise off limits areas of the island. It's a transporter hunt for deer, no guiding, but that was exactly what I was looking for. The lodge is nice, food is good, people are great...

    200" Bucks & 400" Bulls

Lots of great posts here. Shoot (or don't) what makes you happy, and for the reasons that make you happy. I'm not a big social media fan and I'm not sure it's a net positive, but even still if what makes you happy is killing a 200" buck and posting in on Instagram, if that's your motivation...

CO unit 21 deer hunt or 22

Based on everything I was able to find out going in and what we saw scouting and hunting I felt like we did ok. I know we had a good time! My dad's turned out to be a younger buck that looked a little better from a long ways off vs when we put our hands on him, but a good looking deer either...

CO unit 21 deer hunt or 22

I will most definitely agree that the unit was overrun with hunters during 3rd season, forgot to mention that. Buck hunters, doe hunters, elk hunters....the sheer number of people out there was pretty wild.

CO unit 21 deer hunt or 22

I hunted 22 3rd season this year. Not at all disagreeing with any of the local and knowledgeable guys posting here, they know more about the unit than I ever will, I'm not from CO, also never hunted it or even stepped foot on it prior to this year. That said, likely depends on your...

Out of box most accurate hunting rifle.

Didn't see it mentioned though might have missed it, Sauer 100 is a great shooting rifle. Plenty of mentions for Tikka and Savage, good experience with both of those as well.

    Double throat patch odds?

Seems like I almost never see them on mule deer. One of the coolest things about Sitka blacktail is the double throat patch though, and really just their cape overall!

CO Unit 22 3rd Season Deer

An elk hunter killed a small 6x6 opening day that had CWD, or at least sure seemed that way. He'd called the game warden and was told to take the head and leave the carcass so they could come look at it. In the pictures he showed us it looked bad for sure. Didn't notice a deer or elk that...

CO Unit 22 3rd Season Deer

Me too, had a good time and that was the goal! I am not even close to being in the know on this unit being a non-resident, but 500 doe tags does seem like a lot. We didn’t see piles and piles of does/deer. Is the justification from the state CWD?

Did this with a similar thread I made this year about a unit I drew in NV, updated after the hunt because when I'm searching forums for info it seems like these kind of threads rarely show the result and I always wish they would. First off, a really big thanks to several guys on here who...

Also just want to say thanks to everyone who has sent PM's with great info. I know it's somewhat easier to gain intel on units that aren't easy draws, people seem a little more willing to help out in cases like this, but either way, the hunting community is awesome!

CO Unit 22 3rd Season Deer

Hello everyone...Utah hunter here, I've got a unit 22 3rd season deer tag in my pocket this fall, and just starting the first stages of research. I've never been on the unit, and do understand that it's not the greatest tag in the state. My dad also has the tag, he's not getting around like he...
