Bummer! Let us know what you end up doing.
Anybody have any experience putting open sights on an Accura V2 LR? The barrel doesn't come drilled and tapped for open sights. I'm looking into getting a new muzzleloader. Has to be Colorado legal.
For deer, I like the idea of making all units Limited Entry state wide like colorado. Also make private land vouchers only good for private land they were issued to.
LAST EDITED ON Dec-09-17 AT 12:15PM (MST)[p]If they get rid of the spike hunts in LE elk areas they could raise the amount of permit numbers on big bulls. Also move the rifle hunt back to oct. out of the peak of the rut.
LAST EDITED ON Dec-04-17 AT 08:28PM (MST)[p]I decided to try the angled eyepiece but I wish I would have bought a straight eyepiece. I feel like a straight scope has a much more natural feel. As far as the scope itself goes, I do love it. The glass is awesome and I can't wait to try a 95mm lense.
I have the same scope. I use a Promaster carbon fiber tripod and Benro S2 Head. I bought from S&S archery online. I like the setup very well. I also bought a tripod adapter and extra Benro shoe for my binoculars. Works great for me.
So I've got a swaro atx and I'm wishing I would have bought the straight eyepiece. Anybody got any ideas? I did buy at cabelas, maybe they'd trade me out??
I got a 10% off coupon the other day from cabelas. That was more than enough to cover sales tax and I had a bunch of cabelas bucks saved up, plus free shipping. I think I got as good of a deal as could be expected.
Thanks for the reply. I've been looking at a few of the websites, looks like camera land is about 30$ cheaper on the 65mm. I would love to buy local but no way am I gonna pay an extra 200$ in Utah sales tax!!
LAST EDITED ON Apr-20-16 AT 06:16PM (MST)[p]Was wondering if anybody knows if there's a "best" time of year to buy Swarovski? I am saving up and would like to get the best deal possible and purchase a new spotting scope before hunting season.
Great job Cade! That's a smoker of a bull!
There's nothin like a solo backpack hunt to clear your mind after a tragedy!
Humpin out elk meat solo will really clear Yer mnd!!
Congrats!
Thanks for the kind words fellers.
We gotta teach these kids what we know. I'm afraid it's gonna be a tough go for the next generation to say the least!
300gr aerolite powerbelt
100gr buckhorn 209
TC omega 50cal
25 yd shot
Hit bull in front shoulder, bullet was just under the skin on the opposite side.
Bullet weighed 233 gr after.
Worked great
I tried some out of my knight and they seemed to be tumbling.
They may be a hair to loose in my barrel, I might have a little blow by. Didn't shoot well. I have heard they are awesome out of a White rifle though.
Looks like the birds have started to eat that buck alive! (Sad!) In my opinion hunting bucks in city limits is lame! Not much of a trophy to shoot a tame animal no matter how big the animals antlers are. I'll take a back country three point any day over a big city buck!
Ya all I can find are 168 gr. right now. I'm ordering a turret and I figure I need to be at least 185 gr. for elk. 168 are tempting though cause they are shooting tight!
(So are the 185's but I'm out!)
