Been a little slow with mature birds. Have had multiple opportunities on Jake’s (bodes well for next years 2-year olds :cool: ). 1st mature bird was taken in the rain….here’s #2, inch and a half spurs.

Well 2023 is a wrap. Wife finished out with her biggest bird of the year. 21.5 lbs, 10.5 “ beard, an awesome 1 1/2” spurs. Normally we’d head to WA to chase Merriam’s, but knee surgery will keep us low key for a month. Have fun this last week…..Tom’s are cruising solo around noon now...

A mile from camp in NF. Had headed back to camp early after day in snowstorm. 2-day storm had just broke ~20 minutes before coming across him. Saw his twin 3 years later 1 1/2 mile in from where I got this one…. for all of 3 seconds at 80 yds (not along NF road this time)……no shot opportunity...

The write up could be more clear on special vs regular, and those ....aren't those numbers the correct ones for the "on top of regular tag price" when you apply special? Elk $692 + the new $1258 = $1950. Antelope $326 + $874 = $1200 and Deer $374 + 826 = $1200. Have a feeling my plans on...

Couple miles southwest from Chico. I do think the Klamath water debacle helped…..which is unfortunate. Waterfowl historically use that for a stopping over point as you all know, and this year, with almost no water, I’d guess a ton just shot straight to Sac Valley. The water shortages...

We had a phenomenal year. Opener to New Years was off the hook. Slowed quite a bit during all the rain, just started picking up again last week in Jan. Dad and son-in-law (Veterans) should be in for some stellar hunts this weekend :cool: I hope all you landowners are getting our veterans out...
