Like new V3 Magnetospeed. Used for load development on 2 guns and no longer need. Worked great. Comes with everything as if new including SD card that was never used. $225 TYD in lower 48. 720-838-7047 (cell) or PM...thanks, Robert
There was about a 2 point jump last year for unit 1. I had 21 and only 5 of the 12 non-residents with 21 points drew Unit 1 early archery last year. I was not among the winners. (Technically....we don't know how many of the folks with 21 points were still in the running because 9 of those...
I was helping someone on a muzzy bull tag in 67 this year. We were hunting anywhere from tree line to about 700 feet below. I saw more grouse than I've ever seen in any unit this year. Look for edges like where clearcuts meet timber, willows converge with different habitat, etc.
Actually, it would be a 12% death rate annually given this has been going on more than a year..... (not to knit pick the math). 1 out of 8 deer roughly every year. That's assuming the death rate was linear. Otherwise...you might have a year with a higher % or lower % due to environmental...
Definitely folks switching from rifle or people that have been holding out and not applying for years finally felt like the stars aligned. I hope it settles down next year.
Thank you for sharing. Where did you get the data? The 2023 Elk info doesn't appear to be listed on their website. I was trying to figure out Unit 1 early archery elk (non-resident) and the point creep was even worse than I would have thought. 5 of 12 drew with 21 points. I believe a few...
A little different question. Where will the draw reports be located on the new website? I knew how to navigate to the info before but am struggling to find the same information now. Thanks for the help.....
Take this for what it's worth.....which may be nothing, but I talked with an outfitter this morning and they said that "there are some issues that will take some time to work out and that CC hits are far from done". I have no reason to doubt the individual or the quality of their knowledge...
I switched my focus to Unit 1 early archery with 21 points this year and haven't seen a CC hit. I got tired of chasing 3C but looks like the same results. A day late and a $ short I guess.... I wonder how bad point creep was this year with the great moisture and later dates?
I don't know the answer to whether you should be able to see it but I bought it last year as well and it would not let me buy any type of point guard for the elk/antelope draw. Did you see the same thing?
I'm actually having one built. Didn't start out that way...was looking at a 7MM SAUM originally. Then switched based on what we believe will be more consistent component (brass) availability in the new future. It's frustrating to have a $6-8k rifle built and worry if you're going to be able...
Whether a really nice "out of the box" rifle or a full custom (I have both), for me...shooting 500-1000 rounds a year is a good reminder that A) I am not nearly as good a shot as I'd like to be and B) 600-1000 yards is a LOOOONNNNGGGGG way if you are trying to hit an 8" steel target. Variables...
If you are lucky enough to draw the tag, I believe the cost is $20,000 for the license. If you participate in the sealed bid process...the minimum is $40,000 for a bid. These costs are pre guide fees, etc. I think there is an auction tag as well.
Anyone willing to trade for a brick (1,000) of CCI #200 primers? I need a brick of large rifle magnum primers. Looking for CCI or Federal. I also have CCI large rifle BR-2 primers that I'd be willing to trade for Federal Match Large rifle magnum primers.
I'm located just south of Caste...
I use a level on every rifle I've owned in the last 15 years or so. Like others have mentioned, maybe it doesn't make much difference at close ranges but I am surprised how much my instincts are off in certain shooting situations. There are times I question the bubble depending on the terrain...
I just received mine......they are slick! Hard to believe there could be a major breakthrough is something as simple as a speed loader but these will become the gold standard....haha.
I bought my buddy a set too.
Thanks for the heads up GunCarver.
I would have thought the same thing but I have a friend that just got a charge for $319.58 from CPW. Hmmmm, I'd say he drew a resident moose tag. Does seem odd though with the grace period nuance.
I thought they were considering switching 60% of the tags going to bonus points. Maybe I dreamed that....or maybe I'm thinking of another state considering that change?
Sorry for the dumb question, but can you elaborate on "tag shifts"? I guess I wasn't aware there was any type of change. I thought Utah was going to allocate a higher % of tags to the bonus point round this year but would have assumed that was going to help folks.
The experiment happened once and it didn't cause a massive change in points necessary to draw (probably should clarify I'm only talking about resident odds). To be fair, that comment is not based on an exhaustive review of the data or anywhere close to it. I did look at a number of hunts and...
Terry.....I didn't suggest it would solve point creep. I even said it would add to it. My point was that some folks are way over exaggerating how much additional point creep it would cause. I don't care either way. If people don't like it for what ever reason, that's fine by me but no...
I generally stay out of these kinds of conversations because I hate arguing and I'm not a Pro like some folks on this forum. Knowing I'm going to regret this, here goes.....
It seems like the folks against point banking (and I don't have a dog in this fight with almost no points) all try and...
LOVE it! For clarification.....I only have 1 or 2 points for most species after burning them up over the last few years so it's not like I'd benefit from this.
