My Buddy was hunting elk in Unit 51, late Oct in 2018 and swears that he saw a wolf. Said it was red it color and way bigger then a coyote. I think they are more prevalent then we are being told.

Id say your odds for a Rifle tag are excellent!. I believe if you applied for the muzzy tag you would be 100%. These muzzleloader are basically rifles anyway... go for it.

We did drive.... I think if I was to do it again I would fly..... thats a LONG drive! BTW, as you mentioned, the price on Caribou is way up. Over 20K! If I bought that my wife would have my head mounted on the wall of the trophy room. :)

Had a great trip up North to Newfoundland on a fly in moose hunt with my son. We went with Effords Hunting Adventures. Weather was horrible! On the first day we saw a great bull that was probably 40-45 inches wide, about 30 minutes before sunset. Unfortunately, he was about a mile off...

Im not a biologist and I certainly don't claim to have all the answers but I really don't think Elk are a primary cause for the decline in mule deer. I know elk compete with muleys for resources but to what degree??? I don't know. What really bothers me is that we are seeing declines of mule...

Id go with the Diamond Infinite edge. My son had its predecessor and it lasted him from age 11-19. They are a great bow and adjustable from 13-31" draw length and 5- 70lbs draw weight so as your son grows he can adjust it to meet his needs. Overall .. a great bow and easy on your pocket book...
