It was a tough hunt but I was happy to kill this buck. Had some missed opportunities at some bigger bucks but couldnt pass this one up. First year hunting this unit and spent a lot of time learning the area and how to hunt it. Killed him with my great grandpas 257 Roberts and handloaded 100 GR...

Thanks for all the advice guys! That pic was on July 15th so he should grow some more. Either way I think he would be a shooter for my wife's first bull.
This is the best picture I have but from what I can see it looks like he has good fronts. I was just curious if you guys think he is in that 360-370 range or if I'm way off.
It was pretty crowded. A lot of weekend warrior road hunters. Not very many people at all hiking in. It was my first time hunting this area and I plan on hunting it a lot more in the future.
Here is my buck I killed on the last day of the season. I passed on a lot of smaller bucks throughout the year and it ended up paying off. He was just starting to rut. He broke off his little cheater on his left side after I shot him.

Awesome to hear! Ive heard a lot of good things and have seen some awesome bucks killed on here from area 6. Makes me really excited for the hunt. I know I need to get out and scout as much as possible. Hopefully I will have some scouting pics to share soon. Thanks
Looking for some help in area 6 for deer. This will be the first time hunting this area and Im hoping to find an area I can backpack in a couple miles. Ive hunted a lot in areas 16 and 17 if anybody is looking for some help there.
