Hunt ended yesterday morning. Missed one bigger the day before, but I'm happy with him.

Was on a good one.. didn't pan out. Tomorrow.

En route as we speak. 8 hours from Gunnison.

I picked up an 8A whitetail tag in case I didn't draw anything this year. Ended up drawing a CO deer tag so it's looking like this hunt is in limbo. Would love to make it back there, just to do something different.

I'll be in 67. I have the time to be there the entire season if need be and have the gear to be mobile for multiple days if need be.

Headed out for deer 2nd rifle. After much debate, electing to stay in town as opposed to camp this year. Looking for recommendations on places to stay, eat, etc. Maybe even a local watering hole. Also places to avoid. First trip to Gunnison.. looking forward to seeing some new country.

I can echo this. Had the tag two years ago. Tons of deer and a lot of rut activity. Seemed like we saw the same 24" 4pt around every corner. Was a fun hunt though.

I also have second season. Question for those that are familiar with the area.. if you had to choose between going a couple days early to scout and hunt the front end of the season, or show up mid season and hunt through the end, which would you prefer? Would it even matter during second season...

Hunt was tough. Saw around 200 does, several small bucks and one good one before opener we couldn't turn up again. Good luck to the third season guys!

We're seeing a ton of tracks but not a lot of animals attached to them. 10 does in a half day yesterday.. snow flurries today, visibility isn't great.

Headed out Tuesday for my buddy's mule deer tag. Season dates are Oct 29-Nov 2. Anybody have any current conditions or info for the unit? Both never been so we're getting in there a couple days early to see where we can and can't access. Weather doesn't look very favorable for migration.

Looking at likely burning my NR points in 2023. I have points for both 67 2nd and 63 3rd. Looking for opinions and what is the better option. Expectation-wise.. just looking for a good/fun hunt. Would be DIY.

There was one reported to be south of I80 near Truckee last year. Seen a photograph of another that was also in the same area.

I have a buddy who said they saw virtually nothing. However.. I don't think there was a great amount of effort on his part.

I've seen quite a few tags pop up. Mostly archery antelope. However, someone got lucky as a Rifle antelope 041-042 popped up and an archery bull elk tag.

I planned for the entire season. Probably Hunted 8 days or so. A lot of rut activity the first week. We had some decent weather first couple days then it got warm. Still saw plenty of deer each day. Didn't stick around for the last week but heard it was good.

I didn't. Was the first evening I was there, just getting dark. For having such long back tines, he was kinda crabby up front. Cool buck though. In hind sight, I'd probably shoot him knowing what I know now. Looked over a ton of of 23-25" 4x4s and ended up with something in that range.

Looks like there's a few limited quota units I can draw, or possibly draw. I feel like I'm pissin' in the wind by continuing to accumulate points. I've been eyeballing a couple, but with point creep I'm chasing. Anyone been in the same boat and cashed in on some of these "middle of the road"...

First scouting trip to 012-014 for goats this past week. A lot tougher than I was anticipating. Covered tons of ground and saw very few. Going to be interesting for sure.
