    Hey out of staters!

Making the sport a level playing field really isn’t my goal. I’m just trying to get out there with a purpose. I don’t know how much I’m going to be able to hunt in CO this year so scouting for myself would be pointless, but I still want to learn as much as I can so I thought I’d give myself the...

    Hey out of staters!

Thank you that’s good to know. I really appreciate it. I do have a little prior experience with horses so hopefully that gives me a leg up, but I’ll just have to see how it all plays out. Again thank you.

    Hey out of staters!

I don’t know about that... I moved out here when I was 16 with just my mom and sisters. I’d had a lot of previous whitetail experience but no elk. I busted my ass and came out unsuccessful for the first two years and I learned everything I could from reading and just getting out in the field...

    Hey out of staters!

Ya I understand that, but I’m really only doing this for myself. I’m just trying to gain knowledge and information. I don’t go out in the woods once without learning something so if I can help someone on their hunt while also learning something and adding to my “hunting toolbox” then it’s a win...

    Hey out of staters!

Ya like I said I’ve only been out here in CO for 3 years and in the past I’ve seen hunters take the selfish, old school route which I definitely don’t condemn bc we’re all just trying to eat but when I look at the future of hunting I hope we as a group can become more inclusive. Because when we...

    Hey out of staters!

I’d rather have a community of hunters that help and support one another rather than an “Every man for themselves” mentality.

    Hey out of staters!

Ya I definitely get that but look at hunting outfitters... there’s an entire industry built on having guides, wranglers, cooks, etc, do the work for the hunter.

    Hey out of staters!

Cmon man I’m just trying to help fill freezers and get better at scouting.

    Hey out of staters!

I was actually just up in Wyoming a couple weeks ago! I won’t be making another trip up there but depending on what unit you drew I have a lot of family up there so I do know some areas pretty well.

    Hey out of staters!

I live in the boulder area and have hunted CO for elk the past three years after moving here from TN. I know what it’s like to not know anything about the area you’re going to hunt, it’s super frustrating and all you wanna do is feed your family, so if anybody needs help scouting shoot me a PM...

    Idaho Spring Black Bear

I’ve got a cousin up in Idaho that I’m gonna bear hunt with come the end of this month. I’m from Co and I wasn’t planning on getting a tag, I was just gonna go and get away from this madness. I don’t think there’ll be any issue with that but I’m not sure. What do you guys think?

CO Hunter lookin for otc bear unit

I’m driving up to Idaho to go after bears with my cousin from Victor sometime in mid May, so I was wondering about a decent unit that’s not too far from me here in Denver. I was looking at unit 66A, 56, 70s, etc. Not looking for anybody’s honey hole just a general Idea. I’d be willing to swap...

Saw a big boar the last day of archery elk this year not far from Silverthorne. It wasn?t half a mile from a road either. Saw lots of fresh bear sign this year.

    Coyote hunting PNG

I'm looking at going to the Pawnee National Grasslands this weekend to hopefully bag a few coyotes. I've recently built a fleshing beam and want to try my hand at skinning and tanning the hides. Any info on where to hunt or how to skin/tan would be much appreciated. Or any landowners who need...

Need a CO elk hunting partner!

I live in the Boulder area and I figured for this otc archery elk season it may be a good idea to find a buddy to hunt with rather than (hopefully) sticking an elk and having to pack it out myself haha! I'm 18 years old and still teaching myself how to bow hunt for elk a little bit, although I...

    Youth hunter in Colorado

I'm 16 years old and starting to get into elk hunting. I've always bowhunted whitetail with my dad but I'm not able to hunt with him anymore so I will have to solo hunt. I'm very physically active and I've been backpacking many times before so the solo aspect shouldn't be a problem for me. My...

    Youth Hunter in CO

I'm 16 and I'm starting to get into elk hunting here in CO. I know this forum is usually for people sharing pictures and stories of youth hunters but I am a youth hunter! My mom and sisters and I just moved to Colorado from Tennessee. I've always bowhunted whitetails in TN but I've never arrowed...

Looking for a unit in CO for elk

I'm a bow hunter and I'm looking for something pretty remote with not many roads or trails because I will probably do a bivy hunt. Any suggestions help I'm open to any unit.

Looking for a unit in CO for elk

I moved to CO about 5 months ago and have digitally scouted many different units. I'm looking at unit 47 but it's pretty far from home and would prefer something a little closer. I live in Boulder. Any info helps thanks

    Bow hunting unit 47

I plan on bowhunting unit 47 for elk next season and I was just wondering what I should expect in terms of terrain and elk numbers. I've done a lot of e-scouting but I plan to get out in the field and scout a lot this summer and spring. Any info helps. Thanks!
