Put in 10 miles hiking canyons with 4 nice bird dogs on Saturday and only saw one 3 bird covey of mearns. Also had some reports out of other mountain ranges and they didn't even see a mearns..... gonna be a tough year.

Going tomorrow to hunt mearns. A friend in the eastern part of the state has been out everyday and said the Texans are out in full force. Very crowded and no where near the birds of the last couple seasons. I think I will be spending most of the season up high where the fatboys are to lazy to hike!

Well they def. weren't a mistake, used them on my elk hunt this year and I have to agree, best boots I've ever owned. Probably get the Nevada's for upland bird hunting.

Thanks guys. That was our first attempt at making a video and I was skeptical but I think it came out well considering it was only a day and a half of hunting. In all honesty I keep my dogs at 250 yards and in 95% of the time. I do love when the garmin tells me they are on point a long ways away...

Pretty serious quail hunter and dog trainer. I use to field trial but got sick of dealing with horses. It boils down to what you enjoy.
