Do Texans apply for out of state tags?

as a texan, i like most have to lease private property and have some free access to hunt whitetails. drawn a few of the texas public hunts but the odds on most are comparable to that of a sheep tag in a western state. i too put in for out of state hunts, KS, NM, MT, WY and hunted Minnesota black...

special license and youth license draw question

I read on another forum that if the adult(party leader) applies in the special antelope draw that there is no option for the youth in the special and thus the youth is attached to the special draw with the adult at the youth license price. does anyone know if this is correct? doing a...

    63 and 47 conditions

I have enough points to draw one of them, I hope. been tying to get ahold of a biologist but no luck yet. was wondering what the conditions are like and if there is any insight on last couple years horn production? I understand there may be some windfarm construction going on in 47. does anyone...

    license question

for 2020, if I purchase a turkey license for spring, does that cover me on the non-refundable license requirement to apply for big game hunts as well? minus of course the cost of the deer tag or whatever I apply for.

    unit 73/75 antelope herd condition

got 6pts and am considering "trying" to use them for one of these units this year. ive been through the area in recent years and hunted 72 back in 2011. everything ive read and been told on the units suggest lots of bucks, but finding one around that 80" mark could be tough. I know there are...

school me on colorado terrain please

ive spent a lot of time in Wyoming and montana, mainly the central and eastern sides of the states. wyoming units 74, 75, 83 with antelope 4PP

im considering using my 4 PP on the NR special tag for one of these units. really leaning toward 75. ive never hunted that far west for antelope though. hunted mainly the areas around casper and north towards kaycee and down towards Laramie. this is going to be a solo hunt, no tag alongs. may...

    unit 17 and 23 antelope

im looking at taking my son on his first western hunt. we didn't draw our desired unit so I'm looking at the leftovers in 17 and 23. been studying maps and satellite imagery. yes, I know public land is very scattered and limited. I'm looking at roads that are labeled the entire length with...

    unit 32 antelope numbers

i was looking at 47 and 48 but I don't think we can draw with 2 pps. who knows, may not be able to draw 32 this year. I remember a couple years ago I looked at the draw stats and it went for less points.

    unit 32 antelope numbers

i'm planning a first time antelope hunt for my son and father this fall. we have enough 2 pref points which i hope will draw unit 32. this will be a quick hunt as my son will be missing school. i was just curious as to the herd condition in the area? ive not any luck trying to talk to a...

    any region 7 reports?

its been a couple of years since i've been there. numbers were down then compared to when i hunted last which then was 2007. hope they recover well. im just dreading having to buy that over priced license.

    any region 7 reports?

been a few years since i've been up there. i heard the last couple of years the winters have been pretty bad. i'm thinking about putting in for mule deer. we usually hunt around the broaddus area. last time i was there was in 2010, didn't see a lot, but managed to take a respectable buck?

    2012 regs....

i've been going there for several years, but montana has pretty much priced me out with the recent price increases. hunting western biggame as a nonresident is becoming a thing of the past for a lot of folks. what a shame.

heading to wyoming unit 72 for antelope

i love the plenty of good antelope part, but not the snakes. i'd rather have a 30lb bobcat located in the cab of the truck with me than deal with a snake. hope them snakes stand out. don't really want to get bit.

    antelope unit 72

from the boundary designations i've read, the southern boundary of the unit runs along the top of the rattlesnake mts, making the blm below the rattlesnake mts another unit. i plan on looking at it all while i'm there. kind of using the trip as a future mule deer scouting trip.

    antelope unit 72

got the tags in the mail. i'm already studing maps of blm and state land and the walk in areas. i know the rattlesnake mountains are in the southern part of the unit so i would assume the northern part would be the better antelope habitat. any pointers or suggestions? this will be my dad's first...

antelope unit 7 and 9 2nd/3rd choice question

i have my 1st choice picked out, but was thinking about 7 and 9 as 2nd and 3rd. i was wondering, since deer season seems to open the same day as the antelope season, what would the hunting pressure be like in those units? i know that there is some walk-in areas, but i am concerned that since...
