    Muzzleloader 1X vs All-Scope-Ban?

You knew what I was alluding to. There was never a need to break out archery only OIL....put them back in the any weapon pool and use a muzzy or bow if you want.

    Muzzleloader 1X vs All-Scope-Ban?

Slam, appreciate the work you put in but I still don't agree. The argument of when is enough enough doesn't fly with me. Technology is why we have the rifles we have. I have read where you state that a muzzleloader is not a long range weapon nor was it intended. I differ, the longer range it...

    Utah Muzzy Scope Controversy

Manage the wildlife not the social aspects! I highly doubt that there are enough of these super muzzy’s to worry about, much less the owners being skilled enough to use them to their potential. there’s always somebody in this state that’s complaining about what someone else has or does. Does...

    Utah Muzzy Scope Controversy

I thought these were recommendations not rules (yet) ? I’m not sure the board will adopt, seems like a lot of us common folk disagree with it. Just like pols, they listen to the squeaky wheel. Of course there is always an axe to grind by a board member, or an organization. Seems to me if you...

    Utah Muzzy Scope Controversy

No, they are evolutionary, each one is a result of technology and progression and were top notch at a point in history. Each however was supplanted as better technology came along......each were made to be the most lethal at the time..... Archery was long range compared to spear Muzzy was long...

    Tech #4 Rifle Recommendations

Where does a scope on a muzzleloader negatively influence perception? I can that rationale for a a drone, aircraft spotting, but scope no........and again, where is it shown that B:D ratios have dropped? Anyone checked with B&C or SCI for all these monster bucks that are supposedly being killed...

    Tech #3 Data

Only because he agree’s with your opinion. On this board alone there is more opposition in removing scopes than there is in support. How many folks actually have these super muzzleloaders being discussed? Really, how many tags are given to muzzleloader hunters? Far less than any of the other...

    Tech #3 Data

If the data produces the same results why the hell change? No, it’s not common knowledge- it’s an opinion not backed by data This is an exercise of axe grinding; I find it laughable that folks looking at technology aren’t using data to drive decisions but instead are relying on opinion, use a...

    Tech #2

So it has been decided........not intended as a slight and appreciate you bringing this to the forum and believe in vigorous debate, (attack the idea not the person) but how does that bring about opportunity? For the record I don’t hunt with muzzleloaders

    Tech #2

What data backs up a lot? I believe Vanilla brought data that indicates scopes on muzzleloaders did NOT increase harvest rates so........ logically it’s a non issue. However, because people’s panties are in a wad to solve a problem that doesn’t exist something will be done that will be to the...

When did Technology surpass Fair Chase?

Take a look at the harvest rates on the DWR webpage and examine success rates 2018-2021 and 2013-2015 and you will see success rates for muzzleloader general season deer was 28% in 2013-2015 compared to 2018-2021 success of 20%. Difference in tags issued in those time frames roughly 1000 more...

    Texas Draw 2021

I agree, liked it better when you could only apply for one hunt per category. spread things around a bit. The state finally saw it as a money maker and changed it.....but like most I have been in it for a while so I am going to stick with it at least it provides an avenue for a hunt!

    90/10 General quotas?

As a non resident, not enough points to ever (according to lifespan averages) to ever be in the preference point pool and now even less of an opportunity for tags in the random. Really don’t want to hunt cow moose, not why I put in. I’ll just wait and see before I decide on anything. It’s...

    90/10 General quotas?

Always enjoyed hunting Wyoming. Unfortunately in that no mans land with 14 Moose points. I'll wait and see what really happens before making any decisions. While I don't blame the residents for wanting more tags ( I would if I was in their shoes). Just do it and get on with it whatever it...

Way too many, (9). Figured I was in no man’s land, too many for most units and not enough for great units. With the new season structure thought I’d hunt now, leave the points game as I’m to old to draw again and enjoy the season.

Any use in getting a 2nd rifle bear tag 66/67?

Two years ago had a late season Arizona Coues tag and hunted the last five days of the year. Purchased a lion tag but like you thought the bears would be denned up as well so didn't spend the $150. Lo and behold second day of the hunt saw three lion's (mama and two kittens) at less than 200...

    Utah Game Wardens

Been hunting Utah quite awhile; used to to see the warden on horseback every now and then but haven't for about 10 years. Been checked many, many times and only had two experiences that made me wonder wtf. Once we were about 60 yards off the road glassing a hillside and saw a bear, we bs'd...
