I ended up borrowing a car. Great drive. The Nabesna road was not near as bad as expected after all the caution I received about it. I'm curious as to what you had going on in Nebesna if you didnt know who the Ellis bros are. Anyway good luck!

I'm doing the same drive next week. I went a round about way of doing it because rental cars were so high. Ill report back I am hunting with the Ellis brothers.

Hmmm, maybe in northern NM. I've hunted plenty of southern NM units and never had any problem with anyone messing with anything in camp. I usually leave my whole camp out and unattended from a couple hours before sun up to a couple after. Even leave camp set up for a day or two when I go back...

A friend found this bull before a hunt I had. We located him on the first morning and I elected to pass on him. He found his sheds that shed season.

I spent a lot of time in 26 last year and never came across anything unusual. All the BP were very friendly.

The way I read it, the 12 drawn will be doing the grunt work of butchering and hauling the meat. Not "shooting" but I've been wrong before.

Like everywhere else in NM, to get away from the crowds, you will need to be on foot. Every drivable road will have traffic on it. ATV or truck. I pretty much e-scout a unit by finding the places people wont go and more often then not, when i get there for some ground scouting they usually hold...

UPDATE RE: damaged Swaros Got them back good as new. Cost was 200$ even. Absolute great customer service and much faster than they originally said. Could not be happier.

I dropped my near new 15x56 HD binos yesterday and both objective lens suffered substantial damage. I am getting ready to ship them back. Anyone have any info on how this will play out?
