Pretty tickled. Hunted hard. Didn't see much. Bucks,does,even tracks. Not near the number of deer we saw last year. Glad her first hunt didn't end up tag soup.

Thanks guys. We travel through Canon City and Salida on our way over to Gunnison. Hunting 66 again for deer. My daughter has a tag for second season. Id hate to head that way to find the highway closed next Friday.

Nice! Mile high rack on that guy. I love 66. My daughter will be on the gun this fall. She drew a second season tag. We're pretty stoked to get out there again. Good job buddy.

Without a pretty pronounced weather event,it's more of a vacation than a hunt. The later seasons are prime.

It was a hoot. Really enjoyed hunting the big sage country. There were bigger bucks there,but I'm happy with the outcome. I've been replying to PMs. Can't find a sent messages or "out box". If I havent gotten back to anyone holler and we will try again.

Not terrible. Dry! Early in the season anyway. There is a goodly amount of snow above 11,000. We took a ride around our elk camp in 67 while the deer were being processed. We didn't get up out of the safe for deer.

Yeah,I get that CCity. We do pretty well on elm first season. Even with blue bird days. Better than rain that's for sure.

Thanks for the info CCity65. I'd have been late too. I know snow this time of year is unlikely,but a fella can hope. We got hammered first season in 2013. Both coming and going. Really got the critters up and moving. Ill be in 66 second season for deer this year.

I feel your pain. That is a crappy hand to have to play out. But,hunting beats working no matter the conditions. Good luck to you Dorsey.
