Hopefully you get some (a lot) snow, and if so those foothills will look a lot different, and will make finding elk sign a lot easier. And yes those areas you mentioned hold elk, but almost everywhere in 222 does, and the parts of 223 you mentioned do as well.

Plus unit ten every tag comes with 4-5 “helpers” it always puts lots of traffic in the junipers. But I can not talk crap, I love that unit and will go anytime my brother, relative, or I have a tag.

Man I would love that, the other side of that is a large number of hunters would hold out for the “special units” making those draw odds even harder but the 1-3 year hunts we have now would be probably become an every year type of thing.

Man all the times i have hunted cow elk, and a few bull elk in ten I have seen so few deer, but the ones I have seen were absolute smokers. I wish I knew more about deer in 10 than I do.

Won’t have trouble finding em, (especially on big Bo) great tag to have. The problem will only be the regret of not holding out for a bigger one. All I can say is don’t worry about others, if your dad is happy let it fly.

The most points I have seen on a deer is on many peoples Arizona fish and game portal. Hundreds of people got 20 plus points for deer. Oh wait those are bonus points.

That’s what I was thinking, I know my first shot ever just over 50 yards….. nothing. Since then I have been pretty blessed. 6 cow elk 75-250 and 3 bulls never over 100.

Yea they will gladly take my coin again in a few years, I hunt out of state for elk about every other year so I’m sure I’ll be back.

One area buy once, cry once does not apply is Hunting clothing. Yes late season you need good warmth. And hunting in general you need a good pair of boots. But Walmart and Costco supply most of my set up. With clothing it’s buy once cry twice. Cry at bank statement, cry when it’s breaks first...

Found a pair in 2004 in unit 10, but I think they were Steiner. Told the G&F officer. Eventually gave them away to introduce a neighbor to hunting…. And they got lost in unit ten in 2019 while we were packing a bull out in the dark. Something about unit ten just eats binos. Good luck finding...

Can’t complain with the bullet, first 2 elk dropped in their tracks, most recent one went 30 yards. But all my shots have been very close which isn’t where the bullet is designed for. 175 yard cow elk DRT, 70 yard bull DRT, and most recent 45 yard spike ran 30 yards. Can’t complain but not one...

I’m assuming we are talking deer? If so general consensus has still been deer numbers down.

That is my exact plan. Just to add one tip on top of that. Find saddles where they have road access to the surrounding peaks. Let people drive to the peaks and pop there heads out the trucks to get em moving. Then shoot straight.

I’ll be figuring it out too, I’m anticipating a zoo of people. I plan on getting up early hiking in, sitting back and watching the madness.
