My scouting this weekend didn't yield much. 10 bucks and most young sub 24 inch. No bachelor groups like in past years just singles. Still looking somewhat skinny even with all of the food. I think most of the older rutted out worn out bucks are still out in the sage brush as a pile of bones.

I like the positive reviews and will ignore the negative ones, I need to believe that there are still nice bucks left.

I'm fine if they go back to open sights no magnification scopes there were far less hunters on the hill. Now it is essentially an early rifle hunt with the new guns and scopes.

Yeah believe it or not she turns 40 this year. I had been putting her in for only 5 years. Nicer bull than any of mine. And as you can see the first two shots were perfect shoulder vital hits and the 3rd went right through the base of the antler as he was facing away as far as I could tell.

I would recommend the Manti Muzzleloader. I had an expo tag 3 years ago and it was an amazing hunt. Missed some great bulls and ended up with a 330 type. With the 8-9 days during prime rut you will have a blast. Just try to work around the sheep. My wife got the multiseason tag this year...

Good point, I don't want to overpay for the special for a slightly better draw odd.

According to GoHunt it was 75% draw odds for a non-ressy with 9 points in 2022. So an additional point of creep each year? That is rough. So maybe this year your odds would be 25% on the regular who knows.

When I first moved in that area of Lehi there were a bunch of nice bucks that would rut around the same area before the houses came in. Someone poached one of the bigger bulls that I was watching in Micron. He was there the day before and then nothing but a gut pile and he was gone two days...

I would love to see that. I never saw that one at least not when he was that big. Maybe saw him a year or two earlier.
