Accura V2 50 cal: BH209 77 grs ( by weight), Thor Lightning 300 grs., Federal 209A primers. Williams WPS (Ballistic Reticle Insert). Some of the Accura(s) boresize tend to be finicky and took me a while to get the right copper bullet diameter that would fit and shoot well out of my gun.

Too much scope for my needs. My loss someone's gain.

I drew a bull elk muzzleloader tag for September and a cow elk tag 3rd season rifle. Highly motivated for the muzzy hunt. Putting in the work summer scouting and upgrading some camping gear.

Tried the Thor 300s but impossible to load in my Accura V2 and MR-X 50 cal.. Hornady Bore Driver FTX loads and shoots okay but they look seem kinda soft. Which full bore bullet would you recommend for elk 100 yds and in. No scope? Williams WPRS system.

The Fury Universal 50 ca. (.495) load and shoot well out of my CVA Accura V2 and Optima V2. They fit the bore snugly but will load with moderate effort (no sledge hammer needed to load). I will be shooting the 320 grs. for elk this year.

Great, keep us informed on your future results at 50-100 yds. with the Williams FOS-crosshair setup. Once I get the transmission fixed on the old F-150 I'll be hitting the range as well and report back.

I like that setup where you combined the crosshair insert with the FOS sight. I'm gonna experiment with my Accura V2 and MR-X and see how it shoots. I will keep the stock rear peep sight on, though. Are you finding that the FOS covers too much of the target, say at 100 yds.?

I switched to weighing my BH209 powder versus measuring by volume as well.. For load development I'll pre-weigh a total of 20 powder charges (100, 105, 110 grs, etc.) before I get to the range. It actually becomes a fairly efficient process to shoot then since there is nothing to measure.
