Definitely an early rut happening. Saw a pretty big bodied 3 X 4 in 196 Saturday morning swollen neck and chasing does. I was 15 yards from him and he didn't care. I was just out getting some time looking at deer. No tags in my pocket this year.

Yes. they pop up randomly and besides when they first switched it on it was hit or miss. When they it went live there were lots of tags.

Definitely a hard hunt. I picked up an FCFS spike tag and spent 7 days hunting and didn't see a single one. Spike and cow tags can be applied for and now bought on the FCFS system every year.

That's awesome, I hope to get another spike tag. Its a fun but frustrating hunt at the same time. We hunted pole creek for 2 days as well and didn't see any elk either. Ended up on the east side of 74, lots of antelope there. then went to 76 creek in 73 and were on Elk that morning, no spikes...

I picked up a FCFS spike tag for the 072-074 10/1-10/20 hunt. Didn't get on elk until the last day and no spikes in the heard we found. Spike tag is probably one of the hardest hunts in NV. We found Elk up above the 76 Creek trail. Good luck!

021 is a good tag, the deer are moving in from CA. Talked to a guy that has property near the CA border north of cold springs. He said there are big bucks up there daily.

I was 8399 and by the time it was my turn the Elk and Deer tags I wanted were sold out. Might just throw my name in for the draw tags at this point and see if I pull something.

Saw an ALW cow tag for 072-074 pop up this AM. I will say it again, this system is great for re-allocating tags.

I'm lucky to have drawn the tag I did. I will be keeping track of deer movements daily starting this weekend until the rut is in full swing.

I was able to snag a spike elk ALW for 072-074 last night. Hunt starts Friday Oct. 1.

Cow tags have been popping up all week, saw a spike tag pop up and saw those area 051 Bull tags as well.

Thanks for that info, that's pretty much the area I was going to concentrate on. Those flats look like areas elk may pass back and fourth through going into those fields in 231.

Saw on FB another one popped up and someone got it early am today.

It was less than 14 days to the hunt, that is the new rule with this system. I can't wait to see if there are sheep tags turned in.

I would think that is what was available for the hunts that started August 1. Next round will be for those turned in for hunts that start mid August.

Added note, I'm gathering that it only shows you tags that you are able to purchase. If you have current tag for a species it won't show if there are any available for that species.

Tags popped up today. Antlerless Elk Dep tags, and Archery Pronghorn tags. Antlerless Elk had 2 they are gone now. As of right now 14 Pronghorn tags available.

They know about the feral horse problem. There is a copy of the April meeting minutes online and feral horses are listed as the #3 issue regarding mule deer habitat. This is specific to areas 19 and 29 but they know there issue is there. I attached the meeting minuets in PDF here.

NV muley tag for 194/196. Been applying for this tag for several years and finally got it.

My cousin had the 021 Tag last year. Scouted a really wide typical 4x4 a couple days before the tag date opener. Could not find him after that and settled on a decent 3x3.

Two years ago. My cousin hunted it last year for mule deer and a little further south. He said no sign of Elk there. PM me an I can give you the location you might find something.

Last time my dad and I hunted for mule deer in the diamonds we saw some sign of Elk on the north eastern side of the diamonds. Didn't put eyes on them but they was pretty fresh sign.

I drew 194/196. I've been wanting this tag since I was kid. Hunted it with my dad and grandpa when I was younger. Lost my grandpa last year and now have his 30-06 that I will be using for this hunt.
