Dang! Tough experience. Hunting can be brutal.

My take is that the rut just hasn't kicked in... you wont hear or see them until it does.

I have one in California.... set up in the yard and never used. Doubt a sale could work with me being in CA but will be heading through Utah Oct 12/13 on my way to CO elk hunt.

To add to the list... i had a buck in my crosshairs @ 100 yards that had 19 scorable pts that the outfitter told me I "couldn't" shoot.... he was too paranoid about his client getting hers first. Funny enough, her buck was knocked down and this bigger buck stood up at the shot and he thought it...

still have dreams of some of those bucks! :cry:

you're missing the point @SureShot. WHY CAN OTHER STATES GET US RESULTS IN UNDER 2 WEEKS AND UTAH TAKES 2 MONTHS?! THEY WORK FOR US. WE ARE ANNOYED AT THIER INCOMPETENCE.

I get that there is a lot of checks and balances in the draw but what are other states doing differently to get results back to us in a week?! It really is absurd to have to wait months.

Anyone feeling generous to give me a little help on where the birds are in AZ unit 12 this year? I know the units well from deer hunting but never hunted turkeys here.

I hunted 12BW early this year and I passed 1 good buck 160ish and had another bigger buck in my crosshairs for just a second before he spooked. That being said those are the only two bucks i saw the entire week. At least with 12aw they will be huntable and in the unit... they just weren't down...

Can apps still be adjusted to utilize this? Max pt holder here.

Exactly. The system Wy built and the funding of the state wildlife management was built on NR funds. The bait and switch that is occurring is bad business. Take the tags or take the money... not both. WY residents cant fund their own wildlife management without NR's, many of the local economies...

....why so abrasive buzzh? of course someone who is behind me on pts would say i wont be missed... but the application fee and tag fee would by the WGF (that's the goal right... increase rev from NR's?) have you been instructed by the WGFD council to promote their approval rankings on internet...

i agree that residents should be considered first... which they are... but why should 90% go to WY residents? They already get OTC deer hunts in premium deer units, and opportunity elk hunts....and what does 1970 have anything to do with changes they are making 50 years later?

@yotebuster17 upping the prices is one thing (supply and demand only makes sense), changing the tag allocation is another.

Are these legal for recovery in western states? Looks like this is a classic midwest/southern whitetail hunting scenario where "fair chase" has a different definition.
