    Watched a successful deer hunter

LAST EDITED ON Nov-30-19 AT 08:00PM (MST)[p]I know the odds are small but if you were the guy that spent all day on an epic stalk for this buck (looks like a 3x3), let me know. I took video of your follow up shot and some other pics. Congratulations on that buck. Man you worked for it! This is...

    Check your gear folks!

Hey just a reminder before we hit the mountain hard coming up. Check all your gear for safety's sake. That means everything from tree stands, safety harness, batteries in things like locator beacons, GPS etc, weapons, ammo and ARROWS! Yesterday I was shooting one of my few remaining carbon...

How much $$ is a post/view worth here?

Just out of curiosity, is there a way to put a dollar value for a post count or view here on MM? I assume income is generated based on views.

    Drawing for a harvest survey?

Just finished my harvest survey for a controlled elk hunt. Read the note below on the web site. "If you file by December 1, or within 10 days of your season closing, you are automatically entered into a special drawing for an extra elk, deer or pronghorn tag." Anybody ever get or know anyone...

Book Cliffs archery deer tag up for grabs?

Unfortunately, I broke a few bones in my foot this past Saturday. I'm assuming they will give out the tag I just turned in. If that's the case, good luck to anybody that didn't draw. Antler growth is good this year!

Grass Valley/Clark Canyon CWMU deer inquiry

LAST EDITED ON Jan-10-15 AT 11:13PM (MST)[p]Can anybody speak to the quality of this deer hunt? So far I've looked at the stat sheet on the UDWR page and it looks promising. I also found some feed back from the CWMU elk hunters...and watching the deer was the best part of their elk hunt. Thanks...

    Dear Santa...

Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is a "thread owner" tool so I can delete irrelevant posts from prolific posters. This tool will help retain the good standing MM members that are still willing to wade through crap and share tips, pictures and stories of their adventures. I'll check in...

    My first OTC bull

Here is my first OTC bull from Idaho. We were working the very stubborn herd bull for the third time on Saturday afternoon and this guy came running into our set-up. He ran right up to me and presented a 5 yard shot! I couldn't pass it up after a weekend of being wet, sick and miserable...

    Are you scouting this weekend?

Does anybody else find it frustrating that you know you received a tag but you don't know WHERE? In the interest of saving gas money, I'd really like to take the family camping/scouting this weekend (the most popular weekend to camp)...but we don't know where to go.

Help catch a Utah moose poacher

The DWR is looking for help catching a moose poacher. Anybody recognize this arrow? It has initials burned into it. Here is the complete story I just read. I don't know why they are asking for help now...if it happened in SEPTEMBER...

    Rich County moose Poacher

I'll post this in the general forum as well. The DWR is looking for help catching a moose poacher. Anybody recognize this arrow? It has initials burned into it. http://www.monstermuleys.info/photos/user_photos/899425042141.jpg Here is the complete story I just read...

    Muzzleloader of choice.

Just curious what you folks prefer for a muzzleloader. The regs don't allow 209 primers and the cap/ect must be exposed per the regs as well. Wondering what you shoot that meets the criteria. It'd be a shame if I have to buy another gun to hunt there.

    September velvet?

I'm mulling over applying for a muzzleloader hunt next year. I see they are moving the season date out to Sept. 14?22. Are the bucks up in those high basins still holding on to their velvet that late? I really want a buck in velvet.

    My first elk (Wasatch)

LAST EDITED ON Sep-13-12 AT 10:32AM (MST)[p]Tagged my first elk yesterday. That was a tough hunt but I had some buddies that took time to help out when I was right at the point of burn-out. Our fellow MM'er DBG3285 I met here was a HUGE, HUGE help the previous weekend and yesterday when I got...

    Just drew Wasatch...first elk tag

Didn't expect that call this afternoon! Somebody turned in a LE Wasatch archery tag and they pulled my name out of the hat. Thanks to whoever turned the tag back in! Rest assured it is appreciated! This will be my first elk hunt and I'm incredibly excited.

    Crating up deer heads

I'm making an out of state move pretty soon. Crated up my four deer heads and have caulked all the seams except the opening that closed it up. Made the crates out of 2x4's and OSB. They will most likely be in them for a couple months. Can anybody recommend something to put inside to thwart any...

    Odds question

I'm looking at the preference point drawing odds on the F&G web site. Per the snapshot below, am I correct in assuming I have a zero% chance of drawing this tag if I have less than max points...say only three? If so, then my real odds are then the random draw odds correct?

    Opening day buck

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-11 AT 08:26AM (MST)[p]I struck out drawing a tag out west but fortunately last Saturday I punched a tag opening day in WI. I caught this guy sneaking out of his bedding area just before 7pm. Much earlier this spring/summer, I chain sawed a path for me to get to this...

    More nerve-racking to watch?

Wondering if anybody else thinks it is more nerve-racking to watch a buddy during his final spot'n stalk approach than actually doing it yourself? The last couple years I've been a train wreck watching my buddy but when it's my turn and I'm in control, I don't get as unnerved...until I've missed!

    2010 November Whitey

Unfortunately I don't have any muley harvest pics to share...yet. Still getting my feet wet with respect to that. Anyway, here is a whitetail I shot in WI on November 1st. He was sneaking along a faint trail checking scrapes. Shot him at a whopping 7 yards. His inside spread is 21.5"
