I totally agree that for those guys it won't make a bit of difference. However I drive a truck with 200K miles on it, do good to carry a 2K gun, wear 10 year old Cabelas gear, and use modest optics. The added cost for special makes a huge difference for me.

Regular draw for a West Gen tag. I have always applied special before but no more of that for me. 2K for a gen tag is crazy.

I'm old school and proud of it but I still like my Huskemaw. Size, weight, dependability and simple to use in the field

I would also be very disappointed in a 3 MOA gun. Who wouldn't be? Perhaps mine is an exception to the rule.

I got an MRX in 50 cal this fall and love it. Using BH powder and Hornaday 340 Boredrivers I get moa at 200 yds. That's the furthest that I have tried so far.

Alright guys, the NR app season is right around the corner. With the increase tag fees for special draw and all the trash talk about 90/10 for DEA , what do you predict for point creep for '24. More, Less, or about the same? Really interested in what it will take for the NR Gen Elk draw this year.

Would a BDC retical in a 1X be an advantage?

All I know is that I've kilt a pile of critters big and small using Rem Cor-lok bullets and never had a problem. I only started using Bergers and Accubonds when I started to stretch out the distance.

Well that depends on who you would be splitting them with. The original purpose of point sharing is for family and close friends. In that case it might be a reasonable option to consider.

I was ready last month LOL. Me and a buddy are in the special for a gen tag with 4 point average. I can't stomach the thought of trying again next year at 2K each for a general tag.

I would definitely at least have a conversation with Daniel Franco - Burnt Timbers. I deer hunted with him in 3C and came away with respect for his abilities and his honesty. If he feels that he can give you a good hunt in unit 1, then I would lock it in.

Reducing the PP percentage to 50% would only add to the already bad point creep situation.
