After calling a couple of shops in town i guess my needs were too much work for them to handle. Finally, I found a 1911 expert who is actually a friend of a friend and he's agreed to take on my job on. Lucked out because I hear he's retired but still the best around. Thanks for the replies.

Sorry not quite hunting related, and I did do some searching in past threads. Anybody know a good pistol smith in the valley or beyond, specifically for building 1911's? I have a couple of sets of new parts and I'd like to get them built out. Recommendations please.

Anybody hunting in 4B for the Sage Grouse opener? We did Blues last week so the pup and I will be in the lava flows looking hard for our bird. Anybody else hunting it?

State employees don't even start thinking about work until Thursday afternoons. Then it's Friday afternoon before anything gets accomplished. We have at least 4 more days.

I can't recall 46-47 something like that. Well call it mature. Couldn't be too picky with a smokepole.

Thanks guys. Nothing going on with my pup. I'm just looking for a Dr. who knows the rigors of a hard driving bird dog who is good with sutures and doesn't want to charge me $900 for a 12 stitch laceration! Vets are like taxidermist hard to find one who is worth damn. Thx!

Target or hunt, spitpatch after every shot. Same thing every time, gives you a barrel that is always the same amount of dirty.

Legal in everyseason but archery and muzzleloader only. ? Very soft lead with a hollow hole that is too big. Junk...

By snakes I guess you mean rattlesnakes. There are not big numbers of them anywhere I have been in Idaho. I'm never concerned, as I only see a couple a year at the most. As far as deer, pick any open unit based on the habitat you like to hunt. Get away from people the deer are there. Good luck.
