From what i understand, it's being rolled out with fast-twist rifles, so essentially a 270wsm meant to spin heavies. If you feel obligated to push 175-ish grains, but didn't feel the 7mm variants were good enough...then i guess it has a niche.

Is this a new unit, so you're just trying to get a feel for areas that should have critters during your upcoming hunt? Or are you specifically looking for a bachelor herd/special individual deer that would be the focus of your efforts come season? I think a little clarity here might help those...

Green light and no second thoughts with the archery tag I've got this year. Early in a gun hunt tho....I might pass depending on the unit! Only drop I've seen on the hoof was a whitetail that ended up with a .243-cal souvenir and a free pickup ride. Neat vid thanks for sharing!
