    Reloading?

Yeah, it's rough. It clogs the dispensing tube although I can sometimes mitigate that by tilting the unit forward a little bit to give the kernels a head start. Also, each kernel is close to 1 grain, which for most people is fine, however my OCD prevents me from over/under shooting my target...

    Reloading?

Homer, I've had a lot of luck using regular LR primers with no tangible difference downrange (or in velocity/SD/ES). HOWEVER - I personally have had ignition issues with large stick powders, specifically N570 even with a compressed case. I tried Federal and CCI LR primers (same result) and this...

    Reloading?

If interested, the Hornady Lock N' Load kit is on sale here for $389. The price has risen slightly but the kit now includes a sonic cleaner so not a bad deal overall.

    Reloading?

I went really far with that Hornady kit. With quality components, it can produce half-MOA loads all day (out to 600 yards for me anyway). Beyond that, it is a game of thousandths of an inch and significantly higher cost to generate consistent bullet performance (velocity, standard deviation...

    Reloading?

I started reloading almost 10 years ago. At the time, I started with the Hornady Lock-N-Load kit. It came with most everything except for dies and components (powder, primers, brass). The kit at the time was under $300, I want to say around $250 as I caught it on sale. Around that time, it was...

    Weight lifters

Even in pain, the humor is still there. :D I've broken a few bones here and there and had a surgery or two, but sounds like you've hit the pain jackpot. Well, whatever doesn't kill you makes you more stubborn. Heal up quickly, my friend. :)

    Weight lifters

You're welcome, my good sir. Awesome news on the MRI getting approved quickly. I suppose it does make sense to get surgery done on that injury as soon as possible, before scar tissue forms on it and makes it more of a challenge (in my non-medically educated opinion). Either way, the important...

    Weight lifters

Yep, you nailed it. Fundamental movements like you described will go a long way towards strength and injury avoidance. Looking forward to pics of your trip to the White Cloud Mountains :)

    Weight lifters

I have not, not yet anyway. I usually just do box steps and box jumps and that appears to help immensely in the mountains. Keeps the knees, quads and calves in great shape. Although I really should just wear it when hiking. Won't hurt...much. :D

    Weight lifters

Yeah, that bruise is definitely starting to show. :( I stopped heavy lifting in my 30s after a bad accident going through a set of deadlifts. I wasn't getting paid for that stuff so I had to ask myself why I was even doing it in the first place. For the last 20 years, it's been bodyweight...

Yikes! I read your earlier post and you did everything right as far as warming up. Please keep us posted and good on you for getting it checked out early.

    Weight lifters

I always do skull crushers last after the tri's have been warmed up thoroughly. Before then, it's close-grip bench presses, then dips and extensions on the rope if available. Definitely rest up and bummer to hear about your injury. Hope it is nothing serious. Once you can get on the program...

Log into your OnX portal via web browser. I may be wrong but I don't believe there is way to do it through the app on your phone. https://webmap.onxmaps.com/hunt/login Once you login to the web portal, click on "My Content" on the left window pane and then hit the ellipses button on the upper...

    OnX questions

I suppose it's not a service, but I do import my OnX waypoints into Google Earth. I would highly recommend that you export two copies of your waypoints, one in .KML format and the other in .GPX. Google Earth supports KML and Garmin (along with BaseMap and many others) supports GPX. These two...

    Carrying your bow

When stalking, I used to carry it by the strings. Never noticed any detrimental effect. Nowadays though I carry it by the stabilizer (mine can fold which effectively turns it into a handle).

    Best puffy jacket?

I was about to mention that they are having a massive discount on some of their gear. Started off with their main site but now their resellers are catching on. 25-50% off right now

Ollins here as well. That magnet just makes it too easy to pop the phone on and off the spotter.

    Best puffy jacket?

The upgrade that replaced the Kelvin series is great, the Aerolite model. The Primaloft material that they use for insulation shaved off a bit of weight and is just as effective at maintaining warmth. I mainly use it as a mid-layer when glassing or as an outer layer at camp. They pack down to...

Shooting sticks ( tripod ) or mounted bypod?

I had the same dilemma this year trying to figure out between a bipod and shooting sticks for my antelope and elk hunt. I took a chance and lugged my shooting tripod and bipod stick. I took both antelope and elk standing up with this setup. Turns out it was actually just as stable as laying...

    Mule Deer and Mountains?

You're welcome. Please keep us posted. It is not uncommon to spend a whole season (and usually more) just to find and pattern their behavior before a single shot is taken. Muleys are tough and their ability to adapt to wicked terrain is one of the reasons why they can be difficult to spot...

    Mule Deer and Mountains?

I do not. Just a hat and anything I can sit under (aspen, rock outcropping, large sagebrush, etc). Most of your pictures appear to be simple hills in the lowlands and it looks like there is a guzzler in one of the images but I would not rely on that to spot deer especially with all the rain this...

    Mule Deer and Mountains?

You're welcome, and you are definitely right about quality gear being pricey. I know you said you glass morning and night, but be sure to get out there and settle in before the sun breaks over the horizon. Chances are, they are already well into eating their breakfast. Also, some bucks bed...

    Mule Deer and Mountains?

You will find forkies and does in lower elevations early and late in the day. The mature bucks know better and will stay up high and for as long as they possibly can. When it gets too cold and there is no feed, they will either migrate to a completely different area/unit or head lower within the...

    I'm Stumped?

I hear ya. I had a Matthews Triax, which as you know, at 28" axle-to-axle is a really short bow. To make matters worse, I had a high let-off, I think it was 85%. Ridiculous. Not sure what the heck I was thinking. The short bow plus high let-off equated to comical string torquing. At one point...

    I'm Stumped?

Good call. Yes, a release will affect all of that (sometimes including draw length). I tried all the fancy ones but man, target panic became a thing so I went back to wrist/index. Definitely not looking back. It just works for me

    111-114 antelope

I had the doe antelope tag a few years ago and hunted 114 mainly. Between Snake Range (in 114) and the border between 111 and 114 is where I saw the most activity.

    I'm Stumped?

I have a sneaking suspicion that your rest is ever slightly kicking your arrows over. If you are a right-handed shooter, can you micro adjust a click or two AWAY from the riser, then try again? If I recall correctly from your previous post, the shop that did your initial tuning had already...

    I'm Stumped?

Shooting through paper would be helpful as it will visually indicate how it's kicking and exactly how wide of a kick. Your spine should be good to go given the total weight of your collar, point and insert. Your FOC percentage is not high/heavy, roughly based on everything up front plus total...

    I'm Stumped?

Is it still kicking to the right? If everything else checks out (center shot, timing, etc), try a quick and simple nock tune. Take that bare shaft and twist the nock 1/4 turn to the right. Shoot. If it doesn't kick, then call it good. Otherwise, keep repeating this process to see if it stops...

    To a good season

    Bow tuning issues.

If everything was leveled, center shot set, cams timed, etc, the other thing to try is a bare shaft tune through paper. It could very well be that you and the shop were on the right track by setting the rest, but perhaps you just need a few clicks further. If you have a rest that you can dial...

You can buy just the case from GoHunt. https://shop.gohunt.com/products/ollin-phone-case?variant=43177733226690. The iPhone14 is listed towards the top of the phone list. Need some bow advice

Everything said so far is solid especially about finding a shop with a bow technician who knows what he/she is doing. Only other thing I will add is that budget bows these days are extremely consistent and accurate when configured properly. They will do what you need them to do out in the field
