    Idaho HB 587

Except you would never hunt as a non resident in another state since you are completely against non residents, right?!? No Alaska, no pheasants in Kansas and definitely not big game in a neighboring state!?

    Carrying your bow

Cut him some slack, he probably spent the summer watching Dances With Wolves and figured if the natives could do it on the back of a running horse, he would be fine on a metal horse.

    Elk Archery Equipment Question

“It’s not the bow, it’s the Indian.” Plenty of elk are killed with setup’s similar to what you’ve described. That said, I would say to shoot as heavy a draw weight as you can draw back cleanly without the sky draw. I’m currently shooting a 70# draw and 490ish grain arrow. I plan to move to an...

    Helping Our Deer Numbers

Genuine question, have the CWMUs had any tag or season reductions? I’ve always understood that October is one of the toughest times to hunt deer, but that only seems to apply to the public land. If guys are rifle hunting from August through January, that has an impact on the overall heard...

    Helping Our Deer Numbers

I’ll pile on to the winter feeding portion. I’ve never agreed with the resistance to winter feed. You don’t have to worry about CWD it the deer starve to death anyway. Also, by having feed areas you can better control where animals congregate over several years by consistently feeding in lower...

$65 Million Dollar Partnership With MDF

I’m a skeptic, but after seeing how the government spends money in construction projects and how many billions we have sent to the first son’s favorite country while our own boarder and Mauai are a mess, it’s hard to be too excited about this. Feels like more government sponsored money laundering.

    Jeep Gadiator

I was given one as a rental for work a few weeks ago. I honestly hated it. That was all for city and highway travel though. They might be a good off road option, but I think I would probably rather just have a four door wrangler instead so I could at least pull out the back seats and sleep in it...

    Daughter asked to Prom

I recently tried to get my daughter to respond to a kid with a live chicken in a box that said "I'd be a chicken to not go to prom with you" she wouldn't do it. This kid seems like he would appreciate that type of response.

    New bows for 2023

The Mathews V3's are pretty sweet. I've liked my Hoyt Ventum a lot and will probably keep it for at least another year as nothing this year is much different as discussed in the other thread. I've put a few shots through a Prime and liked it also. Most of what's out there now is going to feel...

    Good ole Idaho

I don't mind getting put in a que and doing a real time draw, but if you're going to do it that way, you damn well better have a system that can support the traffic.

    Good ole Idaho

I'm in the same boat, just getting my solo tag is a long shot. A buddy of mine is used to hunting in a group of 3 and hasn't been able to do so in Idaho for a few years now. I was hoping that would turn some people off. Obviously not the case.

    2023 Bow reviews

I was in the same boat until a few years ago. My old bow was a 70lb bow with a 65% let off and just an okay draw cycle. I couldn't believe the difference in the new ones. I've planned to upgrade every few years moving forward to stay more current, but the new lines out this year don't seem to be...

    2023 Bow reviews

Thats how I felt this year. I was hoping for something big and exciting, but no one has come out with much other than hoyt just changing their name on the same bow they've been putting out the last two years. The Mathews new limb concept is interesting, but I'm not sure if it will hold up long term.

    2023 Bow reviews

Just curious if anyone has had a chance to shoot any of the new bows yet? I just upgraded two years ago, but I'm considering doing so again to stay up to date on things, rather than milk it out for 15 years like I did with my last bow. Anyway, I'd be curious to know what you guys like better...

My boys like to watch Fred Eckler on Predator Nation. He missed one back east (Georgia I believe) somewhere on an episode they were just watching. Must be a genetic thing in that area for melanistic dogs.

    2020 Bull

Very cool bull. I'd consider adding a mantel above your wood stove to deflect some of the heat away from your mount though. Check with the taxidermist, but high levels of heat may impact that hide in a negative way.

2000$ to spend on complete hunting setup.

I’d also do about a 70/30 split in favor of the scope. Probably a Bergara ridge with a PST gen II on top.

    What bow to buy?

I bought my 14 year old son a Bear Legit this spring for his birthday. He's been shooting it for a few months now and just recently asked me to turn up the poundage on it. So far it seems like a good bow.

    Yet another school shooting

I think a lot of us are looking at it as needing a better way to better prevent and address mental illness, not JUST prevent those with issues from getting guns. Address the root cause, not just the end results.

    Yet another school shooting

Both Sandy Hook and Columbine happened with the left in control, who are the same ones crying to take away the guns. It makes you wonder if they really care about fixing the problem, or just using it for their own political advantages. You know, "never let a good crisis go to waste" and all.

You forget, the left wants to defund the police. This solution goes the opposite way. They also feel its okay to kill kids, just so long as they haven't left the delivery room yet.
