I drew it in 21 as a resident with 17 points. I was there 3 weeks ago for turkey and the deer population doesn’t look good. It might be worth waiting 5-6 yeats for a tag.

I bought one at sportsman’s warehouse today. Our group spotted 4 last year and nobody had a tag. Headed to the same unit tomorrow morning.

I’ve hunted fall turkey in 12A probably 15 times and applied again this year. One thing noted is the population fluctuates wildly from year to year . I’m not quite sure what to expect this year due to the heavy snow accumulations this winter but hopefully we can find some birds.

Don’t waste that many points on a 36B coues hunt unless you’re using yours with others to average out lower points. We drew the late December 36B hunt this year with a 5 point average.

I hunted 17A for several years in the mid 80s to early 90s. Yes there we’re always a lot of hunters in the camp wood area on the A and B side but back the 17A would have around 800 tags if you can imagine that in such a small unit. The B side had 4-500. If not guided do you have any family or friends coming along? I did the same hunt solo last year and did fine. My son came along for a few days. With the change of the camera law it might even out your chances a bit with guided folks.

Not 209s but I’ve reloaded and fired 30 year old Federal large primers in center fires with no issue.

I don’t have any experience there but if I hunted there 7 years without seeing a single one I would pick a different unit

10 years ago west of Casper I was hunting antelope in a 3 sided bowl valley and a few guys were firing into the valley from a Chevy Blazer. Heard the bullets snap the air before they hit the ground. Very close.

Around 1993 I bought one of the Ruger M77 aynthetic with the paddle style stock in .243. I shot the green and yellow box Remington for years and it’s extremely accurate. I still use it on occasion.

Good year or whatever is considered bad, unit 1 is a great archery hunt

I spent a month out there this summer and saw less than half the numbers of elk than in the past few years

I sold a 2014 Ford eco boost and bought. 2018 Tundra with 35K miles. Definitely lost some mileage going from about 18mpg down to about 14.4. I haven’t towed with the Tundra yet but not looking forward to the diminished mileage but overall I like the truck.
