Same here. Lots of does and a few small bucks. We are packing up today. We put a lot of miles on and seen one good buck, but some other hunters ran him off. Doesn't look like I will be hunting K again.

Great bucks, but didn't like the photos. Those greatly exaggerate the size of the buck by placing the antlers very close to the camera and the hunters very far away. Those are nice bucks, you don't need to pull that crap!

I thought the same thing. The OP stated it was an elk and they still thought they could identify it as a deer.

I can't find the article, but I read that outfitters can no longer pack into the wilderness. The article said that it was a new law and it did not effect people who pack without any profit being made. Can anyone confirm this? That would be the ruin of many local outfitters.

The under the eye entrance hole may not look like a good hit. But the bullet exited through the neck on the other side. I waited for the buck to give me a good angle that would allow for a good kill even if the shot was not perfect.

All three of the bucks I killed this year were with head shots. If I feel confident in the shot I will take it as they always drop on the spot. Seen way too many lost bucks hit in the ribs and shoulders.

Interesting! I saw a blacktail that had a similar antler configuration, except not as massive. It was during the season but i couldnt make out any 1 inch forks to make it legal.

I have found the same thing with blacktails sheds on multiple occasions. I believe it is a territorial thing, and the bucks do it on purpose.
