My 17 year is son also had the early rifle tag this year. It was a great time and we saw over 25 bulls on day one. A few (2 or 3) in the 330 range. My son shot a mature bull on day 2. The bulls were bugling all day and the rut seemed to be in full swing. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

It may not be the "perfect" bullet but it doesn't perform much better than this! Thor 300 grain 50 caliber muzzleloader bullet. Weighed 296.7 grains after I pulled it out of offside shoulder of elk.

Utah Muzzleloader general tag. Not bad for a 12 year Olds first buck.

I feel that it should be Billy's only with a fine of 250$ or so for harvesting nanny and kids. It would force some to make sure it's a billy before squeezing.

Rumor has it it is because too many nanny and kids have been shot in previous years depleting the herd. That's the rumor at least. A good friend heard from the biologist that covers those areas.

If you are looking for a guide in the Uintas call Rusty Farnwoth Outfitting in Mountain Home Utah. He is very successful on goats and knows thise units. I will post pics of the lifesize mount when I can locate the pic.

Uinta goat first weekend of hunt and another uitna goat shot the second weekend. One week.made a big difference in hair length.The longer you can wait the better. Longer Hair makes a better mount imo.
