102,121 mountain goat?

Did anyone see in the application that Mountain goat for unit 102 has unit 121 added to it this year. I have hunted in 121 several times and to my knowledge no goats exist in 121. Is this some sort of typo that made it into the application process?

I saw it last night probably not a typo maybe relocated a few to open up numbers?

No. They found some in 121 last year.

They walk. I remember years ago some showed up in 144, like 2 or 3 goats. Not sure if they removed them or they died of old age.

121 does not seem like prime goat habitat, but it sure would be nice if they let them grow and augment their population.

The biologist said (at the Commission meeting) that one billy showed up in 121 so they proposed adding that unit so that a hunter might get a crack at him. If a hunter doesn’t take him the may go in and remove him themselves. They’re worried that he’s been in contact with domestic sheep there.

I noticed that as well, pretty interesting. I know where we have seen them over the years in 101 and 103 and to think one and one only made a trek to the Cherry Creek range.

I saw some goats hitchhiking on Hwy 93 down to 121 when I was hunting cow elk in 105 this fall.

Lots of domestic sheep in 121. You don't want that goat getting exposed to pneumonia and taking it back to the Rubys or anywhere else that had a viable population.
